International business research posits that, under certain circumstances, consumers prefer goods manufactured in their own country regardless of their country of origin image. Yet the psychological origin of such Domestic bias remains unknown. This study presents a neuroimaging experiment developed in Spain. The task combined low and high involvement goods marked with Domestic “Made in Spain” and Foreign “Made in USA” (similar culture) and “Made in China” (different culture) labels. The findings reveal that Domestic goods always convey neural rewarding sensations. Neural aversive biases toward Foreign goods occur only when the products are culturally different and high involvement. These findings help improve business retailing strategies.  相似文献

On April 10, China's currency, the Yuan, opened at 6.9920 against the U.S.Dollar, compared to an exchange rate of 7.0017-to-1 on the previous day, breaking the 7-yuan mark for the first time since the govemment un-pegged it from the Dollar in 2005, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trading System.  相似文献

中国正着手建立覆盖城乡居民的社会保障体系。从国外的经验来看,虽然各国建立这一体系的社会背景不同,但都是在满足一定的人均GDP、工业化与城镇化水平等基本条件下完成的。基于国际比较的经验,对中国建立覆盖城乡社会保障体系的条件进行了比较分析。虽然中国现阶段已初步具备了建立这一体系的基本条件,但条件并不充分。今后应该依据具体国情和条件分阶段逐步推进这一体系的建设。  相似文献

Economic reform in China has revived the importance of the market forces and of advertising. Although advertising has a less important role in the Chinese market than in Western countries, it is the fastest growing industry in China. Foreign participation in advertising is limited and contributes about 10 per cent of Chinese advertising revenues. This paper argues that there is ample opportunity for foreign advertisers. Nevertheless, because the Chinese market is different, foreign advertisers need to be patient when attempting to enter the market. The problems and prospects of advertising in China are pinpointed in this paper. Some precautionary measures for the advertisers are also discussed.  相似文献

外国直接投资(FDI)一般能够促进东道国的经济增长,但对于收入分配以致对于贫困的影响却是不确定的。本文运用协整理论和自向量回归模型实证研究了外国直接投资与我国城镇贫困之间的关系。结果表明,外国直接投资显著地提高了贫困人口在总人口中的收入份额,因此会产生有利于穷人的经济增长,具有积极的减贫效果。但是外国直接投资同时也加重了贫困人口内部收入的不平等。  相似文献

China is generally acknowledged to be the world's number one country producer of counterfeit products. After becoming a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) China is now obligated to comply with WTO provisions on protection of intellectual property rights (IPRs). However, product counterfeiting operations in China are well entrenched. The postWTO membership environment has changed little, and such illicit operations are unlikely to subside soon. Furthermore, there is not much foreign companies can do because the response strategies recommended in the business literature have limited effect in the Chinese environment. Foreign companies may have to wait until China becomes on balance a victim instead of a benefactor of product counterfeiting before they can hope to see better protection of their IPRs.  相似文献

This article investigates the ownership-control relationship among China international joint ventures in the hotel industry. The findings indicate that equity ownership by foreign partners strongly affects their control over staffing and strategic management activities. This relationship is robust among hotels of different size and star ratings. However, these relationships, though they are not as strong as suggested, can be mediated by country effect. Foreign partners from Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan tend to acquire higher level of ownership and control on joint venture hotels in China, whereas foreign partners from the United States, Canada, and Europe are not.  相似文献

The segmentation of global manufacturing and services provided China and subsequently India with a golden opportunity to make full use of their absolute advantage – low‐cost, yet educated labour – to integrate into the world economy within a comparatively shorter period of time than some earlier industrialisers. Though international trade functioned as a vent of surplus in view of the narrowness of their domestic markets at the beginning of their economic catch‐up, the label of export‐led model may not reflect the real picture as imports underwent dramatic increases during their respective growth periods, in particular for China. Foreign direct investment has played a pivotal role in their economic growth and has major presence in international trade and investment in leading sectors of both countries, giving rise to certain special features and weak links for their economic expansion and sustainability of fast economic growth. To maintain more broad‐based, fast and balanced growth, it seems that both countries have to redress sectoral imbalances, encourage technology upgrading and cope with future changes in demographic profiles which constituted a trigger to fast economic growth at the time of their respective economic reform.  相似文献

近几年来,我国对外贸易顺差持续增长,本文用增长率直接法、增长率趋势法分析了我国对外贸易顺差的短周期、中周期和中长周期波动,并采用ARMA模型预测了我国对外贸易顺差在下一阶段的周期波动情况。研究结果表明,自1978年以来,我国对外贸易顺差经历了8次短周期波动、3次中周期波动(其中第三次中周期波动具有在适度高位平滑化的特征)和2次中长周期波动,目前正处在第二个中长周期波动的扩张期。  相似文献

This article applies Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) theories to the strategic management analysis of the global integration-local responsiveness of multinational corporations (MNCs) in China, from the perspective of company characteristics (ownership advantages and internalization advantages) and environmental dynamics (locational factors) in order to analyze the success factors influencing the sales activities of Japanese MNCs in China. Based on the analysis of a survey conducted on 230 Japanese parent companies with investments in China, the empirical research findings include: Japanese MNCs in China favor global integration strategies; the more significant the ownership advantages and internalization advantages are, the greater the global integration is; the success factors of their operations in China due to global integration are present in manufacturing know-how, procurement of parts and supplies, financial power, previous investment experience in China as well as sales networks and technologies; locational advantages mainly lie in labor cost among other things; internalization factors do not have any significant correlation with the success and performance of the subsidiary company. Asmall-scale survey was deducted recently by China's Foreign Trade and showed that Chinese urbanites are changing their attitudes toward Japan and many of them are viewing their Asian neighbor more positively.On the topic of "Japan Image",we interviewed over 50 young white collars from China.Most of them have been to Japan or working for Japanese enterprises in China.Based on their interests and knowledge to Japan,we paint an international picture to this economic giant by inflection from the thought mirror in minds.  相似文献
