随着现代物流的发展,配送时间和配送成本是制约现代物流企业发展的瓶颈问题。作者通过对企业物流配送活动与配送绩效衡准的分析,建立了基于时间的企业物流配送成本的优化模型,探讨了时间—配送成本优化模型的效用问题。从一个较新颖的角度对配送时间及成本进行了研究。

On the characterization of the exponential distribution by the independence of its integer and fractional parts

It is well–known that the fractional part and integer part of an exponentially distributed random variable are independent. Under some regularity conditions, the independence of the fractional part and integer part of a positive random variable characterizes the exponential distribution.     

Tests for location-scale families based on the empirical characteristic function

A class of procedures is presented for using random samples to test the fit of location-scale families—distributions F(·;θ₁,θ₂) such that Z=(X−θ₁)/θ₂ has distribution Working with empirically standardized data, the test statistic is a measure of distance between the empirical characteristic function, and the c.f. of Z under the null hypothesis, ϕ₀(t). The closed-form test statistic is derived by integrating over the product of a weight function times Using as weight function for each location-scale family the squared modulus of ϕ₀ itself presents a unified test procedure. Included as special cases are well-known tests for normal and Cauchy laws. Small-sample powers are compared with those of Anderson-Darling tests for each of seven univariate location-scale families.     

On the independence of integer and fractional parts

We use the independence of the integer and fractional parts of exponentially distributed random variables to obtain expressions for the order statistics from a geometric distribution. As our main result we show that a strong form of this independence characterizes the exponential distribution.     

Skewed Normal Variance-Mean Models for Asset Pricing and the Method of Moments

Financial returns (log-increments) data, Y _t , t = 1,2,…, are treated as a stationary process, with the common distribution at each time point being not necessarily symmetric.
We consider as possible models for the common distribution four instances of the General Normal Variance-Mean Model (GNVM), which is described by Y | V ∼ N ( a ( b + V ), c ²V + d² ) where V is a nonnegative random variable and a, b, c and d are constants. When V is Gamma distributed and d = 0, Y has the skewed Variance-Gamma distribution (VG). When V follows a Half Normal distribution and c = 0, Y has the well-known Skew Normal (SN) distribution. We also consider two cases where V is Exponentially distributed. Bounds for skewness and kurtosis in each case are found in terms of the moments of the V . These are useful in determining whether the Method of Moments for a given model is feasible. The problem of overdetermination of parameters via estimating equations is examined. 5 data sets of actual returns data, chosen because of their earlier occurrence in the literature, are analysed using each of the 4 models.     

On the two-sided power distribution

This paper concerns a two-parameter two-sided power distribution introduced by van Dorp and Kotz on the interval [0,1]. We introduce a reformulated two-sided power distribution (with the same number of parameters) and provide evidence to prove that it is more flexible than the one suggested by van Dorp and Kotz. We derive various properties of the new distribution as well as provide several hitherto unknown properties of the distribution due to van Dorp and Kotz. We also discuss estimation by the method of moments and the method of maximum likelihood.Received September 2003
