Abstract Those companies or marketing personnel that need to survey or communicate with customers can save significantly on transaction costs (time, labor, etc.) by using an enhanced web survey procedure while maintaining the rigor of quality research. This study demonstrates the steps and software needed to conduct web-based surveys based on a recent survey conducted by the authors. The use of mail-merge type software to send a customized e-mail to potential respondents and the use of software to encode incoming responses into a database file without keyboard entry of responses is discussed. Various software, including HTML editing software, e-mail based merge software, CGI Scripts, and software to compile the survey results, are also described. 相似文献

This study draws on signaling theory to test whether seller and product characteristics impact the use of display-type versus informational-type promotion on eBay. The authors predict that display-type promotion is used by less-experienced sellers who cannot promote on the basis of their own seller ratings. The authors predict that experienced sellers, on the other hand, prefer informational promotion since their high ratings make seller-provided statements more credible. In addition to seller characteristics, the authors predict that product characteristics, such as price and product condition, also impact promotion. It is expected that higher prices drive greater investments in display-type promotions overall, even if such promotion is less effective. Finally, it is hypothesized that the better the condition of the product, the greater the use of informational promotion since this kind of disclosure is especially influential. The hypotheses were tested using a large data set of auction data from eBay and received excellent support. Implications and directions for future research are discussed. 相似文献

(FTC) is viewed as the leader in providing guidance for making disclosures clear and conspicuous. This study examines the
extent to which banner ads in the top 100 web sites in three countries with a shared language and intertwining legal and self-regulatory
systems—the United States, United Kingdom, and Singapore—adhere to FTC guidance. The lack of systematic differences across
countries suggests the need for disclosure research from a global perspective that takes cultural and linguistic differences

ABSTRACT This study investigates users' perceptions of costs and benefits of mobile versus online, PC-based, channels for accessing financial information and completing financial transactions. Results indicate that, in the financial services context, the mobile channel has no perceived advantages over the online channel. The older online channel does have several perceived advantages related to transaction cost, risk, ease of use, meeting financial goals, and information accessibility. The channels are similar on four dimensions, but most of the similarities arise because the online and mobile channels enable purchase of the same financial products. Finally, users are more willing to use the mobile channel for less risky tasks (accessing information) than they are for more risky tasks (buying financial products). 相似文献

消费者消费观念的转变,使得网购从尝试性形态逐步向日常形态转变。由于网络购物在时间和空间上的特殊性以及心理和社会原因,使得消费者在网购与实体购物时所感受的风险存在较多差异,往往感到网购比实体商店购物存在更高的风险。相对于实体购物,影响网络购物感知风险的因素主要集中在消费者、商品、零售商和技术四方面。商家要消除由于信息的失衡给消费者带来的不安全感,同时,还需要商家具有广泛的营销手段和工具,从而提高企业的产品或品牌被消费者选择的可能性。 相似文献

ABSTRACT The applicability of the traditional marketing models to online marketplaces has been of great interest since the advent of the Internet. This study examines the applicability of the Hierarchy of Communication Effects model to the online auction environment through the use of proprietary archival data. The results provide support for a new model, which we call the Hierarchy of Internet Communications Effects, which is applicable to online environments. The Hierarchy of Internet Communications Effects is analogous to other hierarchical effects models from consumer behavior literature known as the learning hierarchies. We provide suggestions to promote products or services at different stages in the Hierarchy of Internet Communications Effects; several implications and limitations are discussed, and future research is suggested. 相似文献

本文首先对交通枢纽建设在经济发展影响中的作用进行理论分析,然后利用定量分析方法对韶关交通枢纽建设在经济发展中的作用进行了实证分析。分析表明:韶关交通运输业对经济发展的推动作用还不够大、韶关经济发展对交通运输业的拉动作用高于对各产业的平均影响水平,这说明韶关交通运输业已成为韶关经济发展的瓶颈产业。 相似文献

This study examines the importance of the Internet as a distribution channel for medium-sized and small accommodation enterprises, identifying the characteristics that could make the Internet a source of competitive advantage. From the resource-based view, online visibility is considered a differentiating factor in the accommodation business, able to produce superior organisational performance through the capture of new clients and by increasing the occupancy rate. The hypotheses are evaluated using regression models with data from small- and medium-sized hotels in Spain available in the public database SABI. The results show a positive effect of online visibility on organisational performance, although explaining only 10% of performance variance. However, online visibility is a determinant for the percentage of reservations made via the Internet. 相似文献

网络评论较客观地记录了游客对目的地的感受,为目的地形象感知研究提供新的素材。研究运用Python从各大知名旅游网站获取网络评论文本,对上海田子坊认知形象、情感形象、整体形象、吸引要素、负面评价等几个方面进行分析。结果显示:游客对田子坊的总体感知是以喜欢和肯定为主,对田子坊的弄堂、小店、石库门、酒吧、小巷子等建筑特色的认同感较高,尤其被田子坊的美食所吸引。但吸引要素中,创意要素很少被提及。基本可以判断田子坊从原先的民居与小厂房混杂的状态变身为政府授牌的创意园区,经过十余年的发展已偏离原先的“创意”定位,逐渐演变为“旅游”唱主角的旅游社区。 相似文献

This study examines the relationship between perceived security and acceptance of online banking with the mediating effect of perceived risk and trust in Internet banking in Iranian customers. Researchers used structural equations model (SEM) to examine their hypotheses and conceptual model. Statistical data were gathered via a questionnaire from 395 randomly selected customers of Bank Saderat Iran in Semnan. Cronbach’s alpha and internal compatibility were used to check the reliability of the questionnaire. The justifiability of the research variables was checked and confirmed using the first- and second-order confirmatory factor analysis. According to the SEM results, the variables of perceived security and trust in Internet banking had a significantly positive impact on the acceptance of online banking. Although perceived risk had no significant impact on the acceptance of online banking, the results showed that perceived risk had a significantly negative impact on trust in Internet banking. 相似文献

Expected to touch US$55 billion in 2016, the e-commerce market in India presents an unprecedented growth opportunity for retailers. Existing studies have identified factors influencing shoppers’ online behaviour pertaining to the developed economies. Hence, it becomes pertinent to validate these antecedents for the economies like India. The article addresses this gap by examining the role of shopping values and web atmospherics, on e-satisfaction of Indian shoppers. Using multiple regression analysis, it also examines the influence of e-satisfaction on repurchase intention. The findings suggest that effectiveness of information content has the most significant impact on e-satisfaction. Web entertainment, utilitarian values and web informativeness are the other influencing factors. Contrary to the earlier studies, this study didn’t find any influence of hedonic shopping values on shoppers’ satisfaction. Also, e-satisfaction was found to have a positive influence on repurchase intention of e-shoppers. The article suggests select strategies that can be adopted by e-retailers. 相似文献

We investigate the antecedents behind online consumers' attempt to disguise their identities through fabrication. We first develop a general conceptual model that draws on two extant theoretical frameworks: (1) Laufer and Wolfe's Multidimensional Approach to Privacy, and (2) Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) with Perceived Moral Obligation. Next we conduct an empirical study using SEM to test the portion of the conceptual model based on the TPB framework. Results demonstrate that Attitudes, Perceived Behavioral Control, and Perceived Moral Obligation are significant drivers of fabrication, while Subjective Norms are not. Anonymity, one of the unique characteristics of the Internet compared to in-store environments, likely contributed to the intention to fabricate information. In the concluding section we discuss the implications of our empirical results, industry self-regulation and public policy considerations, and how future research can draw upon the conceptual Laufer and Wolfe framework, particularly the calculus of behavior construct, to further enrich our understanding of fabrication behavior on the Internet. 相似文献
