The global financial crisis has made a huge impact on China export-based enterprises, among which the first affected industry was textile industry. According to the latest reports from China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology （MIIT） issued in November 2008, revealed that profits for the textile industry in China that had increased 36.9% in 2007, and decreased by 0.7% for the same period in 2008. This amounted in a total loss of RMB 22.13 billion, an increase of 97.7%, with the scope of loss reaching up to 20.4%.

On November 3 to 5, the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation was held in Beijing. Small steel mills face ＂big＂ problems

China produced 49.37 million tonnes of crude steel in November, down 4.6 percent from October, according to preliminary figures from consultancy Custeel. But the November output was still up 40 percent compared with the same month last year, and the month-on-month dip is unlikely to allay government concerns that the sector is producing far more than the market needs. Custeel, affiliated with the China Iron and Steel Association, said total Chinese output from January to November is expected to reach 521.84 million tonnes, up 13 percent from the year-ago period.

On April 10,China＇s currency,the Yuan,opened at 6.9920 against the U.S. Dollar,compared to an exchange rate of 7.0017-to-1 on the previous day,breaking the 7-yuan mark for the first time since the government un-pegged it from the Dollar in 2005,according to the China Foreign Exchange Trading System.Since the start of 2008,it has appreciated more than 18 percent;the breakthrough was an indication of the country＇s efforts to shift away from a heavy reliance on exports and foreign investment,in order to establish a more balanced trade structure.     

How Could China's Foreign Trade Get Over Varlous Difficulties?

Dongguan,which leads the development of private enterprises in China,has witnessed the failure of some businesses recently.Some people predict more enterprises will close down in Dongguan in the second half 2011.According to the latest statistics from China Customs,Guangdong,the largest foreign trade province in China,has a total import and export value of US$513.4 billion in the first seven months,up 24％ from a year ago.However this growth is still 1.1 percent lower than the national average (25.1％),marking that the cumulative import and export value growth of Guangdong is below national average for the first time in 2011.In August,the trade value growth of Guangdong dropped to 22.4％.
