Microaggregation by individual ranking (IR) is an important technique for masking confidential econometric data. While being a successful method for controlling the disclosure risk of observations, IR also affects the results of statistical analyses. We conduct a theoretical analysis on the estimation of arbitrary moments from a data set that has been anonymized by means of the IR method. We show that classical moment estimators remain both consistent and asymptotically normal under weak assumptions. This theory provides the justification for applying standard statistical estimation techniques to the anonymized data without having to correct for a possible bias caused by anonymization. 相似文献

This study performs a model to evaluate the river water quality monitoring system. The standard River Pollution Index which includes dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), suspended solids (SS), and ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) is collected from years 2006 to 2010 for monitoring of river water quality. Furthermore, control chart technology can monitor the river pollution and signal the aggravation of water quality. This study proposes an individual control chart with variable control limits (VCL individual chart) and verifies this chart can quickly signal the mean change of both normal can skew populations in statistical performances. In addition, this study also presents a real case that VCL individual chart is applied on monitoring the water quality of Taiwan’s river. This case shows the VCL individual chart controls successfully the river pollution, and this chart is very suitable to apply monitoring the water quality of rivers. 相似文献

Emotion and power as manifested in forms of social influence have been studied throughout millennia, and have recently enjoyed intense scientific scrutiny. However, their joint effects on important classes of discretionary behaviors in work organizations have not been well elaborated. This paper provides a theoretical framework derived from past research within which these joint effects are described, and offers hypotheses to guide future research. A primary theme is that emotion and social influence, when considered at individual, dyadic and organizational levels, have a reciprocal causal relationship and jointly affect organizational behavior, especially behavior that is largely discretionary, including organizational citizenship and counterproductive work behavior (OCB and CWB), as well as counterproductive organizational behavior (COB). 相似文献

This paper proposes and tests an explanation for the level of raw materials inventories based on transaction cost economics theory and the role of power in a supply chain. According to this explanation, raw materials inventories are larger the higher a company's transaction costs and the lower its storage-related production and management costs. Factors that affect these costs are the company's vulnerability to opportunism, whether the input becomes more or less costly to store and manage as it moves through the supply chain, payment terms and the company's power in relation to its supplier. This explanation for the level of raw materials inventories was tested on a large sample of customer industries matched to their main supplier industries. Consistent with this theory, the empirical results show that companies hold larger raw materials inventories the more money their suppliers spend on research and development and the less important the customers are to their suppliers. These results are important because they indicate companies must consider a wider range of factors than previously thought necessary when establishing inventory policy. 相似文献

This paper provides empirical evidence on forecasting seasonal demand using both individual and group seasonal indices methods. The findings show that the group seasonal indices methods outperform the individual seasonal indices method. This paper also offers empirical results from comparing two shrinkage methods with the group seasonal indices methods. The theoretical rules developed by the authors for choosing between group seasonal indices and individual seasonal indices produce more accurate forecasts than do published rules for choosing between shrinkage methods, when measured by the MSE, and are competitive when measured by the symmetric MAPE. 相似文献

We examine the effect of individual and institutional investor sentiment on the market price of risk derived from DJIA and S&P500 index returns. Consistent with behavioral asset pricing models, we find significant positive response of rational sentiment suggesting greater incentive for rational investors to engage in arbitrage when the compensation for taking risk is greater. Further, an increase in irrational optimism leads to a significant downward movement, but an increase in rational sentiment does not lead to a significant change market price of risk. These results are robust for both market indexes, DJIA and S&P500 and for both individual and institutional investor sentiment. 相似文献

Using the basic distinction between organisational and post‐organisational career orientation, this article examines preferences of business school graduates for different types of career fields and systematic differences between people with different career orientations in terms of behavioural characteristics as well as personality traits. The results show that business school graduates clearly distinguish between organisational and post‐organisational career fields. Graduates with post‐organisational career aspirations display attributes of high flexibility, leadership motivation, selfpromotion/self‐assertion, self‐monitoring, networking and less self‐consciousness. For individuals preferring an organisational career pattern, inverse relationships apply. Some implications of the findings for HR practice are discussed. 相似文献
