An Empirical Model of Efficiency Analysis on Flood Prevention Investment in Japan

This paper aims to evaluate the comprehensive efficiency of flood disaster prevention investment from 1955 to 1999 by developing and applying an integrated evaluation model. Our analysis results have clarified some important issues currently being discussed in Japan. Firstly, the average values of normalized flood losses decreased greatly between the 1955-1961 period and the 1984-1999 period. Secondly, the ratio of human loss to total loss caused by floods in Japan may be less than 10%, based on the concept of the value of statistical life (VOSL) and values estimated from the risk-money tradeoff. The proportion of intangible effect to total loss increased from less than 10% before the 1970s to approximately 20% after that period. Finally, flood prevention investment in Japan effectively reduced losses caused by flooding before the 1960s; however, since the 1980s, investment has changed from an efficient mode to an inefficient mode, not only from the economic standpoint, but also from that of total flood loss saving.

The Effect of Earnings–Announcement Timing on Earnings Management

This paper examines whether firms which delay earnings announcements engage in earnings management. The cross–sectional version of the modified Jones 1995 model is used to estimate 'normal' accruals. Prior research has documented that, on average, delayed earnings announcements are associated with negative earnings surprises. Our evidence suggests that the market anticipates unfavorable earnings news when it observes reporting delays. As a consequence, late reporters appear to make the most of a bad situation by employing income–decreasing accruals in big–bath–type earnings management and in contractual renegotiations. We find that the magnitude of income–reducing abnormal accruals is related to the reporting lag.     

我国财政支农的资金效益问题研究

本文通过一系列数据对我国财政支农资金的效益进行分析得出农村居民纯收入的缓慢增长与财政支农资金的快速增加形成了明显反差,我国财政支农资金使用效益不高。针对这样的现状,分析了产生财政支农资金效益不足的原因,并提出相应措施来提高财政支农资金的使用效益。     

过渡期产业群的演化与政策启示——以浙江永康五金产业群为例

当前我国产业集群正处于过渡时期,市场机制的完善提高了市场交易主体间扩展信任水平,从而降低基于扩展信任的交易费用水平。随着集群规模不断扩大,理性的企业会选择更多地与传统集群外有竞争力的企业进行交易,从导致产业集群由以血缘与亲缘等为纽带的传统集群向基于扩展信任的现代集群演进。本文以浙江永康五金产业群为例对此进行了分析,提出了产业集群发展的几点方略。

和谐的劳动关系,是和谐社会的内核,建立和谐的社会,就必须首先建立和谐的劳动关系。而要建立起和谐的劳动关系,就必须进行一系列深层次社会变革。     

Consumer specialization and the Romantic transformation of the British Grand Tour of Europe

This paper posits that significant changes in 19th century British recreational travel patterns resulted from a change in the manner in which tourists used entertaining stimuli in order to attain pleasure. Consumers no longer merely viewed arousing stimuli, but attempted to use them to produce emotional states of being which they could partially modify to intensify pleasurable feelings (Damasio, Looking for Spinoza: Joy, sorrow, and the feeling brain, William Heinemann, 2003). The impetus for this modification stemmed from an increasing awareness that emotional responses could be to some degree self-cultivated, as embodied in the Romantic ethos that become popular at the time via the emergence of the paperback novel and magazine industry (Campbell, The romantic ethic and the spirit of modern consumerism, Blackwell, 1987). By learning how to manipulate and modify mental images in a way that may not necessarily correspond with objective reality, Romantic tourists learned to elicit pleasure through engaging of their imagination. Such a change in the mode of pleasure seeking had important long run economic consequences for tourist regions throughout the European continent.     

信息对称的新探索

笔者在以往信息对称研究基础上,结合撰写博士学位论文,对此研究成果进行了重新梳理和细化,对实现信息对称的"三九四"工程继续深化研究,运用综评论分析法、层次分析法,创造性地提出实施九大机制的三种崭新技术,即信息分离技术、信息还原技术和信息核对技术,以期实现信息对称,从根本上改变公司治理。     

当前我国企业管理创新的基本趋势

实践表明了,管理科学是和其他科学一样的处于不断进步、不断发展之中.企业管理没有一成不变的理论与模式,需要随着时间与情况的变化不断创新.在当前我国进行社会主义现代化建设的过程中,在学习国外企业先进的管理经验基础上进行企业的管理创新,是实现企业管理现代化的必经之路.如果说,管理是保证企业顺利发展的永恒真理,那么,管理创新则是企业能够适应环境不断变化并且取得经营管理成功的永恒主题.     

会计信息失真的原因及对策

近些年来,会计信息失真现象日益增多,这不仅严重影响了会计职能的发挥和会计工作质量的提高,而且破坏了社会经济资源的合理配置和市场运行机制,损害了国家财经法律法规和会计制度的严肃性,严重干扰了社会经济秩序,损害了国家和社会公众利益。不利于会计从业人员整体素质的提高和会计工作领域的净化。找出会计信息失真的原因,制定行之有效的治理措施,对防范会计信息失真具有重要的现实意义。
