In this article, we analyse the trade–growth nexus for Slovakia. This country represents a critical case for such research because it is one of the most open economies in the world; by several measures it is the most open economy in the EU, with the most Eurocentric trade, and has maintained one of the best growth performances within the EU over a sustained period of time. In contrast to most contributions to the trade–growth literature, we analyse all six possible causal relationships between Slovakia’s exports, imports and growth, using the technique developed by Toda and Yamamoto (1995), on quarterly data from 1997Q1 to 2014Q4. We find evidence supporting both the export-led-growth hypothesis and the import-led-growth hypothesis. None of the other four relationships was found to be significant. 相似文献

We present a new approach to conduct time-varying out of sample causality tests and apply our method to examine the information content of the stock market for economic growth in the US context. We show that equity valuations convey little information in the period after the 1960s. Particularly, there is no evidence to suggest that the recent bull market in equities is indicative of higher future economic growth. Hence, our results are against the argument that the stock market should be included as a leading indicator in economic policymaking. 相似文献

The structure of the Turkish healthcare system is being reorganized under Health Transformation Program (HTP) and some serious changes in healthcare system are being carried out. Effective healthcare personnel and patient communication has a significant impact on patients’ health behaviors and health outcomes. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of communication dimensions and HTP on patient and healthcare personnel communication and interaction. The survey was conducted with simple random sampling to 9,089 patients in Turkey. Exploratory factor analysis showed three dimensions of communication which are in positive and strong relationship: building relationship, process of physical examination and ending communication. Hierarchical multiple regression was performed to measure the effect of communication dimensions and HTP to patient–healthcare personnel communication and interaction. According to the first step, communication dimensions have a statistically significant effect on patient–healthcare personnel communication and interaction. Introduction of HTP to hierarchical multiple regression explained additional meaningful variance in patient–healthcare personnel communication and interaction, after controlling communication dimensions. It is revealed that, HTP has an important role on communication and interaction. This study has a macro approach and it is limited with the patients’ point of view. 相似文献

This study aims to assess the efficiency of health sectors of 34 OECD countries by employing input-oriented data envelopment analysis (DEA) method both under constant and variable returns to scale assumptions. In the analysis, the number of doctors, number of patient beds and health expenditure per capita were used as input variables and life expectancy at birth and infant mortality rate were used as outputs. At the first stage, DEA analysis was performed for 34 countries, and at the second stage outlier 8 countries were eliminated to form a more homogeneous group and to achieve more accurate results. 11 of the 26 countries were found to have efficient health systems, and there is room for efficiency improvements in health sector in the remaining 15 countries. 相似文献

Hypothesis test is a function of decision making. With samples data, the author has got konwledge about population. It analysis the difference between two dependent or independent samples significance or not. Hypothesis test measures the difference of estimation from real values. This article resarches probability of these differences. In this study, difference and similarities between nonparametric wilcoxon t test and parametric t test will be searched, and application is about basic rights and freedom of the students. These findings are in line, the normalization of the data due to dissolution of the test theory as non-parametric implementation, will be more even in terms of statistical theory. However, the implementation of parametric test does not show the absolutely wrong to deliver results. 相似文献

Pricing Options in an Extended Black Scholes Economy with Illiquidity: Theory and Empirical Evidence
This article studies the pricing of options in an extended BlackScholes economy in which the underlying asset is not perfectlyliquid. The resulting liquidity risk is modeled as a stochasticsupply curve, with the transaction price being a function ofthe trade size. Consistent with the market microstructure literature, the supply curve is upward sloping with purchases executed athigher prices and sales at lower prices. Optimal discrete timehedging strategies are then derived. Empirical evidence revealsa significant liquidity cost intrinsic to every option. 相似文献

The advances in technology and global deregulation have led to the progressive internationalization of professional services, notably, the healthcare industry. The present case study examines the remarkable internationalization journey of Acibadem Healthcare Group (AHG) by scrutinizing the dynamics and outcomes of the agile and innovative strategies which propel their achievements. The case of AHG shows that successful internationalization in the service industry, in general, and healthcare, in particular, is not solely in the domain of large, established companies from advanced economies, but those ventures with liabilities of origin, newness, and size can also succeed with smart strategies and resourceful leveraging of their competitive advantages. The study provides unique insights on strategic management for successful internationalization of the healthcare services within an emerging market context and suggests future research avenues in this fast-growing field of inquiry. 相似文献
