Summary This paper views uncertainty and economic fluctuations as being primarily endogenous and internally propagated phenomena. The most important Endogenous Uncertainty examined in this paper is price uncertainty which arises when agents do not have structural knowledge and are complelled to make decisions on the basis of their beliefs. We assume that agents adopt Rational Beliefs as in Kurz [1994a]. The trading of endogenous uncertainty is accomplished by using Price Contingent Contracts (PCC) rather than the Arrow-Debreu state contingent contracts. The paper provides a full construction of the price state space which requires the expansion of the exogenous state space to include the state of beliefs. This construction is central to the analysis of equilibrium with endogenous uncertainty and the paper provides an existence theorem for a Rational Belief Equilibrium with PCC. It shows how the PCC completes the markets for trading endogenous uncertainty and lead to an allocation which is Pareto optimal. This paper also demonstrates that endogenous uncertainty is generically present in this new equilibrium.This research was supported in part by the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei of Milan, Italy, and by the National Science Council of Taiwan. The purpose of this study was to identify the underlying structures of RV traveler’s pull factors to campgrounds and confirm the results by using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis with multiple data sets. The results identified the following five dimensions of the campground traveler’s key attributes: Activity, Amenity, Essentials, Price, and Store. The “Essentials” factor had a grand mean of 4.47, which was the highest among the five factors. Therefore, campground owners and managers should pay extra attention to maintaining a high quality on those essential attributes first, before considering adding or promoting any other items.  相似文献

This paper reports different times-to-equilibrium for G-10 developed economies and the Eastern European emerging economies. By applying a novel method of value-weighted index to highly-trade-linked economies, we test the purchasing power parity to the full length of time-to-equilibrium. The times-to-equilibrium obtained are: 6 years for developed and 2 years for emerging economies. These results are consistent with the sticky price hypothesis: economies trading in highly aggregated capital goods take longer time to reach price equilibrium in the face of overshooting exchange rates: the opposite is true for primary exporters. This finding is new for these two groups, and could be compared usefully with the earlier reports of long half-life for developed countries. Also, our method of measurement establishes the actual time of the theory prediction on price-to-currency relationship. It is possible to apply this methodology to study more groups of countries.  相似文献

This study was conducted to determine how culture influences the ethical perception of managers. Most studies conducted so far have only stated similarities and differences in ethical perception between cultural or ethnic groups and little attention has been paid towards understanding how cultural values influence the ethnic groups' ethical perception. Moreover, most empirical research in this area has focused on moral judgement, moral decision making and action, with limited empirical work in the area of ethical perception. A total of 22 interviews were conducted and the questionnaire survey yielded 272 managerial responses. Three implications were obtained based on the findings of the study. The first implication is that differences in ethical perception can exist when one culture attributes moral significance to something that another culture does not. The results of the study also suggest that similarities in ethical perception can occur when a situation is viewed as an accepted and institutionalised part of doing business. Finally, the findings of the study also show that the influence of culture on ethical perception varied according to the different types of scenarios.  相似文献

This study identifies perceptual differences between the experiences of using an interactive ubiquitous access tourism service (U-tourism service) at a cultural heritage site and on-site participation-driven services. An interactive U-tourism service, “Hwaseong Haenggung Histour”, a smart phone application, was developed and implemented for this study. The study found (a) visitors who experienced the U-tourism service showed higher recognition on such dimensions as education, novelty, entertainment and fellowships, regarded as important components of on-site experiences, than those who joined on-site participation-driven services and (b) young visitors who used the interactive U-tourism service recorded higher in the dimensions of both education and novelty than those who joined on-site participation-driven services and showed higher satisfaction. These findings provide strong justification for the introduction of U-tourism services, particularly for young visitors. This study contributes to the understanding of a fast-growing and influential electronic tool for cultural heritage sites.  相似文献

This study (1) constructs a knowledge flow network for leading semiconductor companies; (2) seeks out how leading semiconductor companies can attain knowledge competencies (through patent activities or network position) via social network analysis; and (3) proposes critical strategic suggestions regarding knowledge flow networks in the industry. The results show (1) that a knowledge flow network with no isolators and Asian semiconductor firms are closely connected with other firms all over the world; (2) that patent activities are positively associated with central network positions and firm performance; (3) that closeness centrality is helpful for patent citation activities and also helps to achieve better performance; and (4) that semiconductor companies in Asia are also closely connected with others in the world.  相似文献
