This paper examines the strategic use of intermediaries by companies to better meet their technology needs from the resource-based theory and network theory perspectives. The results of this study are based on a sample of Korean IT companies and indicate the particular importance of cooperation with government support organizations and public R&D institutions in building relational assets. Intermediaries played a crucial role in enabling and facilitating joint development projects and promoting technology transfer among the companies in general.The results of this study suggest that intermediaries, as they are linked to other organizations within networks and are centrally situated within those networks where information and resource flow, can coordinate and control the exchange of information and resources within networks and enjoy timely and privileged access to such information, giving them the means to expand their strategic social capital. 相似文献

and high technology of ISP industry it has become as a monopoly market and the monopoly market is very respect the competition
and cooperation relationship with competitors. Besides, most of the relevant literature in the past is focus on the measurement
and analysis of customer to the self-company and few of them mention how to include the satisfaction of competitor’s customer
into measurement and analysis. As golden strategy stated in the Sun-Tze Strategic: “Know yourself and know your competitor
well, winning every war.” we must consider the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat on customer satisfaction of your
company and competitors. Base on the above motivation, this article will apply the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve,
Control) methodology of 6-Sigma, focus on the viewpoint of customer satisfaction of ISP industry. At first we utilize the
5 equal scale measurement define the network quality item of ISP, which provided by the self-company and competitors. And
measuring the degree of “satisfaction” and “importance” of these quality items, then use the performance evaluation matrix
and strength and weakness matrix to analyze the Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat of self and competitors, focus
on the quality items that fall out of the 2 sigma and use the strength–weakness strategic chart to establish the improvement
strategy. And at last, utilize the strength–weakness matrix chart as the control tool to verify and sustain the effectiveness
of the improved performance. The complete and easy measurement improvement model provided in this article can be used by the
enterprise to effectively and quickly evaluating and analyzing the service quality of self and competitors. And under the
reasonable cost condition with considering the competing opportunity and threat of market to effectively improving the customer

Journal publications are important to facilitate knowledge sharing among production and operations management (POM) academics and practitioners. The purpose of this study was to explore the global POM research performance based on papers published in 20 core POM journals in the past half century. The data for the study were obtained from Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science/Knowledge databases, from 1959 to 2008, when 63,776 papers were published in POM journals. The annual distribution of papers published shows a significant growth in POM research productivity over the time period 1959 to 2008. The most productive authors in these five decades were T.C. Edwin Cheng from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong; Gilbert Laporte from HEC Montréal, Canada; S.K. Goyal from Concordia University, Canada; S. Eilon from the University of London, UK; and Oded Berman from the University of Toronto, Canada. The five most productive institutions were as follows: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Purdue University, and the University of Michigan. The countries found to have the highest outputs were the USA, the UK, Canada, the Netherlands and Taiwan. 相似文献

Fresh meat product retailing at traditional markets in Taiwan causes concerns over meat safety issues.The agricultural administration has established programmes to raise consumer awareness of potential risks of fresh meat that have remained at room temperature for several hours. Although supermarkets sell chilled and frozen meat products, the majority of grocery shoppers in Taiwan still prefer purchasing fresh meat products at traditional markets where meat is displayed on counters or hung on hooks. This study utilizes survey data to segment meat shoppers in Taiwan. Results indicate the shoppers who purchase meat products at supermarkets tend to continue shopping at that location. Potential shoppers of supermarkets, who may switch from traditional markets to supermarkets for meat products, are identified and the major concerns of this group are the meat safety issues. Factors that influence the possibilities of selecting supermarkets for meat products are examined. 相似文献

This paper documents and investigates the structure of relative wages among skill groups (distinguished by gender, education and potential experience) in Taiwan over the period 1978 to 1990. To account for these changes, I construct a model of wage determination in which demographic groups are treated as separate inputs into the production process. Thus, the changes in relative wages are determined by (i) changes in the relative supply of input factors; (ii) changes in the product composition; and (iii) biased technical changes that shift the relative demand for inputs. Analysis of OECD trade statistics shows that manufacturing imports from Taiwan to OECD, the main source of derived demand for the unskilled labour, exhibited a time pattern that matches the overall relative demand shifts. 相似文献

This study offers an integrated framework involving antecedent paths to successful product innovation. The study explores conditional models leading to high product-innovation performance using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). Based on relevant literature, this study categorizes relevant antecedents including organization-related, project-related, process-related, product-related, and market-related categories, and the newness of product innovation, into causal recipes. To assess the applicability of this conceptual model, researchers collected data from R&D managers and members of high-tech firms in Taiwan. The study includes dividing sampled firms into three groups according to the extent of within-firm agreement on responses by executives to questions about antecedents (in surveys that they answered independently). The findings include model routes to high product-innovation performance for each group. The findings indicate that no one simple antecedent is sufficient or necessary for high performance; no one path is necessary for high performance. However, there is only one avenue to successful product innovation for low-agreement cases. This study also finds some common rules behind these paths across groups. The strategy implication is to think through alternative paths and not key success factors for achieving high product-innovation performance. 相似文献

Abstract This paper adopts an advanced panel cointegration method which incorporates multiple structural breaks to examine the long-run relationship between real output (RGDP) and the Konjunkturforschungsstelle (KOF) index of globalization (overall and its three main sub-indices), employing annual data of G7 countries from 1970 to 2006. Our empirical findings provide strong evidence that overall globalization and its social dimension are cointegrated with RGDP, and most of the structural break points are discovered during the period of the oil crisis (the mid-1970s) and the process of European Union integration. In addition, in evaluating whether or not the structural breaks affect the RGDP through globalization, we discover that both the overall globalization index and the social globalization index have a directly positive impact on RGDP but indirectly exhibit negative impacts on real output via the channel of social globalization. 相似文献
