Abstract

Despite the importance of diary measures, the dominant method used to measure radio audiences, few studies have been published concerning the accuracy of those measures. Several different measures of car radio audiences were conducted over a three-month period, including an audio tape of each subject's car radio listenership, in order to assess the accuracy of diary measures of car radio audiences.  相似文献

Socially constructed marketing imageries (e.g. e-atmospherics) help consumers while making choices and decisions. Still, human and retailing technology interactions are rarely evaluated from a social practice perspective. This article explores the potential impact of socially constructed e-atmospherics on impulse buying. A framework with three interrelated factors, namely social acoustic, co-construction and mundane language enactment is analysed. This paper extends the formulation of the input–output model to account for events that cause time varying and probabilistic workforce disruptions. One example of such an event is a pandemic, because the rates with which it affects the working population vary from period to period and are coupled with uncertainties. To address such complexities, the paper develops two extensions: (i) a method of translating unavailable workforce into a measure of sector productivity disruption, and (ii) a simulation framework to account for the possible variations in economic output losses. These extensions are implemented via a MATLAB program to simulate a pandemic scenario in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  相似文献

For many years, scholars have used a variety of models to measure organizational aspirations, but these alternative measures reflect differing assumptions about the decision‐making processes determining aspiration levels. This study begins by examining some of the implications of the aspiration models in use. It then extends the theoretical model of aspiration levels from the behavioural theory of the firm to incorporate varying attention, another fundamental concept from the theory. Finally, it uses direct aspiration measures on the sales performance of retailers in a large automotive manufacturer to assess the alternative theories by comparing existing models with one that incorporates varying attention. We find support for a model where the importance of the factors influencing aspiration levels varies with the level of past firm performance relative to industry performance. Thus, the varying attention so central to the behavioural theory of the firm influences the formulation of aspirations.  相似文献

We use a within-subject experimental design to investigate whether systematic relationships exist across distinct features of individual preferences: altruism in a two-person context, risk aversion in monetary outcomes, and social preferences in a group context. We find that altruism is related to demographic variables, including years of education, gender, and age. Perhaps most importantly, self allocation in a two-person dictator game is related to social preferences in a group context. Participants who are more generous in a dictator game are more likely to vote against their self-interest in a group tax redistribution game which we interpret to be an expression of social preferences.  相似文献

To differentiate ecosystem management, three models of firm‐level environmental stewardship are paired with three types of trust, which serve as informal governance mechanisms. The interconnectedness of organizational fields and the influence of intertemporality and interspatiality (time and space) are key dynamics in developing decentralized networks as an approach for linking firms, organizational fields, and global sustainability efforts. Interviews with 18 firms, government agencies, and nonprofit‐making organizations from Japan and the USA are utilized to discuss the key concepts in the paper.
