Determinants of Entry and Profits in Local Banking Markets

This paper estimates a two equation model of market entry and profits, utilizing data on entry into over 2,000 banking markets over the period 1977--88. The entry equations measure whether entry depends on incumbent firms' profits and other market attributes that reflect the long-term attractiveness of markets for entry. Market profits, assumed to follow a partial-adjustment process, are affected by entry directly and indirectly through market structure. The model also corrects for an unavoidable source of error in market-level profits for the banking industry. The estimates suggest that a competitive process is at work in banking markets that limits the ability of supra-normal profits to persist. Entry is more likely in markets that have high profits, consistent with previous empirical results that market structure adjusts more quickly when profits are supra-normal. Population and population growth are also strong determinants of entry. Entry, in turn, reduces profits in rural markets.     

Testing approach and avoidance motives and job satisfaction: psychological contract breach as a moderator of the mediating roles of tactics

This study tested the mediating roles of both voice and facades of conformity in the relationship between regulatory foci and job satisfaction and the extent to which the mediating roles is moderated by psychological contract breach among a sample of 271 military recruits in Taiwan. Results suggest that voice and facades of conformity mediated the relationship between regulatory foci and job satisfaction. Also, results suggest that perceived breach moderates this mediating pathway: Strong psychological contract breach increases the relationship between promotion focus and voice in the case of job satisfaction. On the other hand, psychological contract breach strongly moderates the relationship between prevention focus and facades of conformity in the case of low job satisfaction. Results are discussed in view of the importance of (a) including the measure of regulatory focus in future studies, (b) the mediating roles of different tactics in explaining the relationship between regulatory foci and job satisfaction and (c) the moderating role of psychological contract breach as a negative workplace event. Implications for the results are discussed.     

零膨胀损失次数的贝叶斯分位回归模型

研究目标：建立零膨胀损失次数的贝叶斯分位回归模型。研究方法：通过增加随机扰动将离散型的损失次数数据转化为连续型数据,在预测误差平方和最小的条件下,求解出分位数水平,并应用贝叶斯方法求解分位回归模型中的参数。研究发现：基于得到的分位回归模型及相应的分位数水平,实现对未来的损失频率的预测。研究创新：借助等式关系,求解分位回归的分位数水平,避免主观选择分位数水平的弊端,实现对零膨胀损失次数贝叶斯分位回归建模。研究价值：基于一组实际数据的实证分析结果表明,该模型可以显著改进现有模型的拟合效果。

成渝地区作为西部经济增长的重要引擎,在中国区域协调发展战略中占据重要地位,对其不同阶段的经济发展理论及实践进行考察具有重要现实意义。文章依托CNKI数据库1994~2019年相关文献,运用CiteSpace5.3绘制成渝地区经济发展相关研究文献的知识图谱,可视化分析相关研究的热点、变化趋势及机构空间分布特征。在新时代成渝地区双城经济圈建设上升为国家战略的背景下,分析其建设面临的主要问题,指出应重点从加强开放合作,增强内生协同发展动力和资源环境承载力,并从成渝地区经济重心变化轨迹等方面寻求应对策略。

2018年4月以来,美元持续多次加息,多个新兴市场国家本币大幅贬值、股市急剧下跌、债市承压动荡,资本外流压力进一步显现。新兴市场国家金融动荡的导火索以外部因素为主,风险传播渠道以跨境联动因素为主,风险放大渠道以内部因素为主。在美元加息背景下,新兴市场国家要妥善处理自身货币与美元之间的关系,避免过于依赖美元,过多承担短期美元债务。支持法国、德国等提出的建立新独立国际支付体系的倡议,避免部分国家将国际公共的金融基础设施作为制裁手段。
