In this paper we introduce a family of test statistics for testing symmetry based on φ-divergence families. These test statistics
yield the likelihood ratio test and the Pearson test statistic as special cases. Asymptotic distribution for the new test
statistics are derived under both the null and the alternative hypotheses. A simulation study is presented to see that some
new test statistics offer an attractive alternative to the classical Pearson test statistic for the problem of symmetry.

This paper reconsiders equilibrium existence in models with migration and voting over local public goods. We show that under some straightforward assumptions on preferences and income distributions, the basic structure of multicommunity models (i.e., perfect mobility, majority rule, single crossing property) implies that no equilibrium with jurisdictions conducting different policies can exist. Stratification equilibria—with sorting of the population according to income classes—are therefore not as natural as is sometimes suggested. Mechanisms that can serve to support stratification (i.e., tight housing markets, returns to scale in the provision of publicly consumed goods) are discussed. 相似文献

While emotions have been shown to have significant influence on various consumer behaviors, the cognitive appraisals linked
to consumption emotions have not been fully explored. This research investigates how individuals' cognitive interpretations
of situations correspond to the emotions they experience in these contexts. Using analysis of variance and multiple discriminant
analysis, our results show a systematic relationship between cognitive appraisals and 10 consumption emotions. The author's
findings offer theoretical insights into these consumption emotions, the appraisal/consumption emotion correspondence, basisversus
subordinate-level category differences in emotions, and mixed consumption emotions. The findings provide a practical framework
for academics and practitioners interested in better understanding and managing consumption emotions.

This article attempts to bring coherence to the diversity that characterizes organizational learning research. It argues that
organizational learning is embedded in four schools of thought: an economic school, a managerial school, a developmental school,
and a process school. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the schools, describes how they differ from each other,
and outlines how each of them can be employed effectively. To demonstrate the benefits of theoretical plurality, the four
schools are applied to the key marketing topics of market orientation and new product development. Implications for future
research in marketing are provided.

A dialectical relationship exists between the capitalist desire for accumulation of wealth and profits, and the rights of
employees. Labor process theory exposes facets of the fundamental incongruity between the interests of employers and workers
in a capitalist political economy. An analysis of employee rights through the labor process framework facilitates the potential
for human emancipation by illuminating the ideological, political, and economic sources of domination and repression that
are embedded in the capitalist system. In this article, three core elements of labor process theory—the social relations of
production, the managerial control imperative, and the restructuring of work—are used to highlight ways in which organizations
maintain their hegemonic position. This exposé offers the basis for an alternative paradigmatic view of the employment relationship
and informs our thinking of how employee rights are impacted, and often tempered, in work organizations.

In non-parametric methods many units are calculated as efficient. The article suggests a method for ranking efficient units, not by their efficiency, but by importance as benchmarks for the inefficient units, in contrast to earlier suggestions in the literature which rank units high if they are specialized. However, the total potentials for improvement frequently remain unrevealed by calculating radial efficiency measures of the Farrell type only. The article therefore first develops efficiency measures that explicitly extend the radial measures to include slacks. Deterministic frontier analysis (DFA), stochastic frontier analysis (SFA), and data envelopment analysis (DEA) are alternative analytical techniques designed to measure the efficiency of producers. All three techniques were originally developed within a cross-sectional context, in which the objective is to compare the efficiencies of producers. More recently all three techniques have been extended for use in a panel data context. In the latter context it is possible to measure productivity change, and to decompose measured productivity change into its sources, one of which is efficiency change. However when efficiency measurement techniques, particularly SFA, have been applied to panel data, it has infrequently been made clear what the objective of the analysis is: the measurement of efficiency, which may vary through time as well as across producers, or the measurement and decomposition of productivity change. In this paper I explore the use of each technique in a panel data context. I find DFA and DEA to have achieved a more satisfactory reorientation toward productivity measurement than SFA has. 相似文献
