非国有企业投资行为研究

本文考察了处于转型和市场不完善情况下,以非国有企业为主体的大型乡镇企业的投资行为。研究表明,企业的财务结构、市场地位和所有权状况直接影响其投资决策。这些企业的投资对流动性状况和内部融资的可获得性都十分敏感,但并不受外部资金的获得情况的影响。企业投资行为与人格化的银企关系并不相关,但却与企业的市场潜力、产品出口及研发支出密切相关。模糊的集体产权对投资的影响是负效应的,而界定清晰的个人产权对投资产生正的效应。     

Using Subjective Risk Adjusting to Prevent Patient Dumping in the Health Care Industry

We examine how to procure health care services at minimum cost while preventing suppliers from refusing to care for high-cost patients. A single risk-adjusted prospective payment is optimal only when it is particularly costly for the supplier to discover likely treatment costs. Cost sharing is optimal when these screening costs are somewhat smaller. When screening costs are sufficiently small, screening is optimally accommodated and subjective risk adjusting is implemented. Under subjective risk adjusting, the supplier classifies patients according to his personal assessment of likely treatment costs, and payments are structured accordingly. Optimal procurement policies are contrasted with prevailing industry policies.     

Scaling laws, talent amplification, and executive compensation in the commercial bank industry

This research takes an alternative approach in analyzing the distribution of executive compensation in the commercial banking industry. We make use of scaling laws—laws often applied in the physical sciences that relate the intensity of an event to its frequency—to quantify the distribution of compensation and to make inferences on the type of process that generates it. We find that the distribution of compensation for chief executive officers, chief financial officers and chief operating officers is consistent with the amplification of managerial talent. However, we find that senior lending officer compensation does not support such increasing returns to talent. (JEL G210, Y330)     

基于投入--占用--产出技术的自然资源乘数分析

本文在简要介绍投入—占用—产出系数表的基础上,给出了考虑固定资产占用的资源乘数计算公式。然后,以青岛市为例,研究了青岛市的海洋鱼类资源乘数。结果表明,1997年青岛市渔业部门的海洋鱼类资源乘数,考虑固定资产占用比不考虑固定资产占用有明显增加;考虑经济系统对生态系统的影响比仅考虑生态系统对经济系统投入时的资源乘数也有所增加;进一步考虑生态系统内部各成分之间的联系时,资源乘数又有所增加。     

大力发展非农产业,努力增加农民收入

近些年，农民收入成为社会各界关注的热门话题，其现状不容乐观，例如增长趋缓，低于国民经济增长速度，城乡差距逐渐拉大等等。统筹城乡发展、大力发展非农产业特别是第三产业，创造更多的就业岗位，吸纳农村劳动力向城市转移，提高农民收入，进而提高城市化率是今后我国“三农”工作的根本，也是我国经济发展的重点，应切实采取措施促进实现这一目标。     

Alternative hypotheses and the volume of trade: the gravity equation and the extent of specialization

Abstract.  We examine why the gravity equation works and the implications for its use. First, we demonstrate that the gravity equation as a statistical relationship can be generated from a model with incomplete specialization and trade costs. Second, we analyse the predominance of zero bilateral trade values as a 'puzzle' broadly inconsistent with the complete specialization models typically used to derive the gravity equation, but consistent with the alternative hypothesis of incomplete specialization. Third, we demonstrate that the explanation for why the gravity equation works has considerable relevance for how the gravity equation is interpreted and used and how we view bilateral trade.     

Money, Sex and Happiness: An Empirical Study

The links between income, sexual behavior and reported happiness are studied using recent data on a sample of 16,000 adult Americans. The paper finds that sexual activity enters strongly positively in happiness equations. Higher income does not buy more sex or more sexual partners. Married people have more sex than those who are single, divorced, widowed or separated. The happiness‐maximizing number of sexual partners in the previous year is calculated to be 1. Highly educated females tend to have fewer sexual partners. Homosexuality has no statistically significant effect on happiness.

随着新经济的到来,知识越来越成为企业快速响应市场机遇和获取竞争优势的最短缺资源。而企业自身知识资源的有限性使企业越来越多地采用虚拟企业的高级形态——知识联盟型虚拟企业来弥补企业知识资源的不足以快速响应变化的市场需求。首先对知识联盟型虚拟企业的知识缺口类型进行研究和划分,然后分析并描述虚拟企业生命周期各阶段的知识活动;在此基础之上,探讨虚拟企业组建阶段考虑知识要素的伙伴选择过程;最后,针对不同的知识缺口,提出伙伴选择过程的评价指标体系设计中应考虑的知识性因素。
