Saunders, Paul R., Herman F. Senter, and James P. Jarvis, Forecasting Recreation Demand in the Upper Savannah River Basin. Annals of Tourism Research 1981, VIII(2):236–256. The Upper Savannah River Basin in Georgia and South Carolina, USA, offers opportunities for a variety of recreation activities. Four major reservoirs, and a fifth one under construction, are available for recreation use. Most users live within 80 to 160 kilometers of the two principal reservoirs, Hartwell Lake and Clark Hill Lake. A recreation demand model was developed for these two reservoirs and the soon to be completed Russell Lake, basing total demand on projected population and participation rates for fourteen selected activities. Total demand, consisting of met and unmet demand, was predicted for 1976, 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2010. The model is a relatively simple tool which can be used by state, local, and regional planners to predict both demand for facilities, and the supply of facilities needed to meet future demand. 相似文献

This paper analyses the real GDP growth and inflation forecasts prepared by the International Monetary Fund, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the private forecasters between 1999 and 2010. The empirical results show that the long-term growth forecasts were inferior to a naïve model and were biased. Access to complementary resources through strategic equity alliance networks is an important activity for both smaller and larger firms. In the literature, there is an intensive debate on the impact of alliance resources for smaller firms. We submit that the effect of alliance resources on the smaller firm financial performance depends on the attributes of these resources. Specifically, we argue that the attributes of partner organizational capital are negatively related and the attributes of partner production factor resources are positively related to the smaller firm financial performance. We test our theoretical framework by applying a longitudinal analysis to a dataset of 1730 firm-year observations of strategic equity alliances in the software industry in 25 countries over an 11-year period. We find support for our hypotheses, highlighting the critical importance of resource attributes for smaller firms in strategic equity alliance networks. 相似文献

Drawing on social identity theory, this study provides a model explaining the underlying process through which transformational leadership influences creative behavior and organizational citizenship behaviors. Individual differentiation and group identification are proposed as social identity mechanisms reflecting the characteristics of personal and collective identity orientations that underpin the differential effects of transformational leadership behaviors on performance outcomes. The model is tested with data from a sample of 250 front-line employees and their immediate managers working in five banks in the People's Republic of China. Results of hierarchical linear modeling provide support for the model whereby group-focused and individual-focused transformational leadership behaviors exert differential impacts on individual differentiation and group identification. Furthermore, individual differentiation mediates the relationship between individual-focused transformational leadership and creative behavior, whereas group identification mediates the relationships between group-focused transformational leadership and OCBs toward individuals and groups.
