The impact of product placement on TV-induced tourism: Korean TV dramas and Taiwanese viewers

This study examines of the ways in which Korean TV dramas affect Taiwanese consumers’ attitudes toward the locations where the dramas are filmed (onscreen locations). Previous studies have incorporated balance theory into product–character association models and have demonstrated that consumers tend to align their attitudes toward products with the valence of a character’s attitudes toward the products. Unlike previous studies, this article attempts to investigate the product–character association model in a cross-cultural setting where the ‘products’ considered are the onscreen locations. To account for the effect of similarity between Taiwanese culture and Korean culture, the concept of perceived cultural proximity is introduced into the balance-theory-based model. The results show that consumers’ parasocial relationships with a character and consumers’ attitudes toward the character are related to their attitudes toward the location. However, this relationship is significant only for those viewers with high perceived cultural proximity between Taiwan and Korea.     

薪酬机制对教师行为模式、激励和绩效影响的研究

为研究高等学校薪酬制度对教师的激励作用,文章在进行部属高等学校教师相关情况的调查统计基础上,研究现行薪酬制度对教师在绩效考核制度效果、工作压力、心理承受力等三方面的心理作用及对其价值观的影响。研究结果表明,教师对自我价值实现和事业追求非常强烈,绝大多数教师喜爱本职工作,并希望通过深化高校管理体制改革,进一步提高管理体制的公平与效率。文章认为实行多层次、多目标、多模式的高等学校薪酬制度管理策略是提高公平性与效率的主要手段。     

How do internal capabilities and external partnerships affect innovativeness?

How do a firm’s internal capabilities and external partnerships contribute to its product and process innovativeness? How do their impacts differ? Based on the theoretical framework of exploitation and exploration, we develop an integrative model linking the impact of both internal capabilities and external partnerships on product and process innovativeness. Survey responses from Taiwanese biotechnology firms indicate that research and development (R&;D), marketing, and manufacturing capabilities have different effects on product and process innovativeness. Of the four types of external partnerships, only partnerships with universities and research institutes seem to add value, whereas partnerships with suppliers, customers, and competitors do not contribute to innovativeness. Moreover, marketing capability and customer partnerships have a positive interaction effect on product innovativeness, while manufacturing capability and supplier partnerships have a positive interaction effect on process innovativeness.     

文化传播中的汉语语义场效应

语义场不同义位在组合的动态过程中产生的语境意义,和由这样的意义所形成的话语意义,是语义场理论在语言学系统中具有价值的关键,也是这一理论具有生命力和张力的关键。笔者称之为场效应。汉语使用地域广阔,使用汉语的地域也存在一定文化差异,如意识形态、地理气候、经济、风俗习惯和方言等,这些语境因素都对汉语语义场发生影响。本文拟通过对文化传播中具体个案的话语研究,描述文化传播中汉语语义场效应。     

Comparing Firm Failure Predictions Between Logit,KMV, and ZPP Models: Evidence from Taiwan’s Electronics Industry

This paper applies the Taiwan electronics industry data to detect the discriminatory powers of Logit, KMV, and zero-price probability (ZPP) models that represent respectively the regressive fitting model, the option-based pricing model, and the GARCH time series simulation model. In our circumstances, according to cumulative accuracy profile, receiver operating characteristic, and even Brier score, the KMV performs the worst. The disadvantages for KMV are that the equity market exists some nonlinear characteristics, the unknown market value of asset affected by the change of capital structure is not exogenous, and the failure point is difficult to be estimated correctly. Besides, KMV is however too simple to model the fluctuation of the equity value as the GARCH does. On the other hand, the Logit performs above average. To preclude over-fitting and keep model parsimonious, two significant factors are extracted from as many as forty financial variables for the logistic regression on binary failure data. The result of Logit training has perfect discrimination. However, for the post-sample data, the fitting to categorical but not ordinal data makes Logit have the divergent failure predicted probabilities and highest Briser Score. In practical, ZPP GARCHNorm uses just equity value to predict firm failure but it performs remarkably well supposing that downward price trend or volatility persistence in stock price changes is appropriately caught. It implies that the distorted signals such as overreaction of traders and insider trading would definitely impair the ZPP GARCHNorm. Nevertheless, the larger type I error than type II error in all models indicates that the prediction of non-failed firms should be more examined further than that of failed firms.     

团队氛围、董事会内部沟通与战略绩效

本文在理论分析的基础上提出研究假设,通过问卷调查的方式搜集数据,以47家企业董事会454份有效问卷为样本进行实证研究,结果表明,团队氛围中的团队信任对董事会内部沟通具有显著的正向影响;团队氛围中的情感冲突对董事会内部沟通具有显著的负向影响;董事会内部沟通对企业战略绩效中的团队学习力、决策有效性和战略一致性均具有显著的正向影响。研究不仅丰富了董事会团队过程理论,而且能够有效地指导公司治理实践。     

上海民族茶商变迁与近代中国茶业组织的发展

上海是近代中国茶叶出口的主要口岸,其民族茶商演变在一定程度上反映了近代中国茶业组织的特点及其变迁历史。"分包"式结构是中国茶业组织的主要特征,它是对茶叶小生产种植方式路径依赖的结果。近代中国茶业竞争力提升有赖于产业组织从"分包"到整合的转变,但洋行对出口经营的垄断制约着这种变迁。
