Meanings of Food among Polish and American Young Women

Food carries different meanings across cultures and times. This study aimed to explore the meanings of food among young women in Poland and the United States using a qualitative approach. The findings show that, in both countries, women associate food with health, pleasure, and socializing, but overall Polish women are less emotional about food. More specifically, in the United States, women associate food with love, their identities, and have more conflictual feelings about food, whereas in Poland women associate food with creativity. The study discusses marketing implications of the results.     

The effect of host country Internet infrastructure on foreign expansion of Korean MNCs

This study examines the effect of host country Internet infrastructure on a multinational corporation (MNC) foreign expansion. Using Heckman’s selection model on a sample of 2589 subsidiaries of 487 Korean MNCs between 1990 and 2011, we find that host country Internet infrastructure is important in MNC expansion decisions. In addition, we find that a well-developed Internet infrastructure within a host country leads to more investments from MNCs producing consumer over industrial goods and is more attractive to domestic market followers than market leaders. We find that the host country’s Internet infrastructure is important for an MNC foreign expansion decision, suggesting that efficient communication within an MNC is critical in coordinating globalized MNC subsidiary operations.

技术创新是乡镇企业面向未来,积极参与国内外市场竞争和实现可持续发展的必然的战略选择。为了搞好技术创新,乡镇企业必须针对自身的缺陷和存在的问题,强化技术创新的技术层面与非技术层面的集成作用,提供有力的政策环境与市场环境,加强技术创新过程管理,建立健全技术创新动力机制和产权激励机制等。     

Measuring service experience: a utility-based heuristic model

This research aims to construct a model to evaluate service experience. We develop a novel model for service experience by incorporating positive and negative dimensions. We demonstrate that greater utility from experience results in greater value of service experience. We also discovered negative dimensions are the key reason; especially waiting time. We separated five groups to help firms explore deeper insights from various dimensions. The value of service experience in group of middle range has the greater contrast between positive and negative dimensions than the other groups. Service providers can obtain customer perception to adjust or revise the service components.

以油藏监测工作中的油藏压力监测为例，介绍了标准化工作在压力资料录取及解释分析中的作用。并用实例说明了标准化作业在油田开发方案的制定及油藏压力监测中的应用。     

区际分工转型中的西部地区产业结构转变

要素禀赋状况决定的区际产业分工逐步由自然资源-技术型向自然资源-技术-资本-人力资本型转变.这将西部地区置于区际利益分配过程中相对不利的地位.立足资源优势,在现有垂直型产业分工的基础上,以专业化和市场化为导向,展开与发达地区的水平型分工,构造合理的垂直-水平型产业分工格局,是促进西部地区产业成长,提高区际竞争力的重要方面.     

山西省特色农业产业集群集中度和竞争力分析*——以运城苹果、朔州羊肉、晋城大豆为例

[目的]文章选取了山西省3个具有代表性的特色农业产业集群(运城苹果、朔州羊肉、晋城大豆)进行研究,通过探索山西省特色农业产业集群发展的优势与不足,有助于提升产品竞争力和助力区域经济发展,进而达到促进农业发展、带动农民增收的目的。[方法]文章运用2005年、2010年、2015年3个时期的数据,首先基于波特的钻石模型分析了3个产业的发展情况,然后运用区位商和集中系数指标、产业效率优势指数和规模优势指数指标分别分析了3个特色农业产业集群的集中化程度和竞争力。[结果]从集中化程度来看,运城苹果产业发展进入成熟阶段,专业化程度和集中化程度近几年一直较为稳定,进一步提升空间不大;朔州羊肉产业处于大幅上升阶段,集中化程度明显,且优于专业化程度;晋城大豆产业专业化程度优势优于集中化程度优势,但二者均呈先升后降趋势。从竞争力评价角度来看,运城苹果产业已初具产业效率优势且稳定上升,规模优势稳定且变化不明显;朔州羊肉产业具有极高的产业效率优势且高位运行,规模优势稳定且处于成熟阶段;晋城大豆产业正在形成产业效率优势,规模优势近年来稍有下降。从综合比较优势来看,运城苹果产业处于成熟阶段,朔州羊肉产业具有极强的综合比较优势,晋城大豆产业受规模优势下降的影响而下降。[结论]总体来看,3个产业作为山西省的特色农业产业,其集中化程度和竞争力均较高,且具有发展优势和发展空间,区域布局合理,已经形成或正在形成特色农业产业集群,但同时也存在一定的问题。从微观层面来说,农户、企业等微观主体应该继续发挥产品的品质优势,同时努力扩大市场份额和拓展销售渠道,积极延伸产业链,加强与科研院所的合作;从宏观层面来说,应该加强政府支持和引导,减少市场风险的不确定性。

聚合氯化铝（PAC）由于具有投加量少、絮体大、絮体沉降速度快、成本低、混凝效果好等优点．目前在国内外广泛应用于水和污水处理上。对PAC在污水处理中的应用情况进行了综合论述,并展望了PAC研究前景。PAC在污水处理中的应用方式主要有：PAC直接处理污水、PAC与其他工艺组合处理污水、PAC与其他药剂复配处理污水、改性PAC处理污水。     

Who Benefits in an Insider Negotiated Block Trade?

We examine insider negotiated block trades to investigate whether new active blockholders with special expertise create shareholder value. In contrast to existing studies, we find no reliable overall evidence of permanent stock price increases, operating changes, or improved net of industry profitability associated with these major control changes. Top executive turnover is extensive, but appears largely attributable to the block sellers’ actions, not the imposition of discipline by the block buyer. Results suggest initial shareholder gains anticipate takeovers, not improvements in profitability. When a takeover is not forthcoming, the gain disappears.
