Although much research has been performed on the role of intentions in consumer behavior, relatively little attention has been given to the processes intervening between intentions and behavior. Because coupon usage behavior requires planning and implementation effort with respect to intermediary acts or means, the behavior is considered problematic. This article proposes a model for explaining how consumers enact intentions once they decide to use coupons. Enactment of intentions is hypothesized to be a function of three appraisal processes: self-efficacies, instrumental beliefs, and affect toward intermediate acts or means. These three appraisal processes are hypothesized to combine multiplicatively to influence the target behavior, coupon usage. Also, one's prior history of coupon usage is expected to be an important determinant of coupon usage. Theoretical and practical implications are also discussed. 相似文献

This paper reviews research on the role of anger in conflict. We distinguish between intrapersonal and interpersonal effects
of anger, the former referring to the impact of parties’ feelings of anger on their own behavior and the latter referring
to the impact of one parties’ anger on the other’s behavior. We further compare the effects of anger across a variety of conflict
settings, including negotiation, ultimatum bargaining, prisoner’s dilemma, resource dilemma, and coalition formation. At the
intrapersonal level, anger is associated with competition in all conflict settings. In contrast, the interpersonal effects
of anger differ across situations, with anger sometimes eliciting cooperation, sometimes eliciting competition, and sometimes
having no effect. Based on the research reviewed, we conclude that the interpersonal effects of anger in conflict are determined
by the level of interdependence of the parties, their information processing tendencies, and the justifiability of the anger
expressions.

It is often argued that a mandatory minimum wage is binding only if the wage density displays a spike at it. In this article, we analyze a model with search frictions and heterogeneous production technologies, in which imposition of a minimum wage affects wages even though, after imposition, the lowest wage in the market exceeds the minimum wage. The model has multiple equilibria as a result of the fact that the reservation wage of the unemployed and the lowest production technology in use affect each other. Abstract This paper reviews the marketing, transportation and environmental economics literature on the joint estimation of revealed preference (RP) and stated preference (SP) data. The RP and SP approaches are first described with a focus on the strengths and weaknesses of each. Recognizing these strengths and weaknesses, the potential gains from combining data are described. A classification system for combined data that emphasizes the type of data combination and the econometric models used is proposed. A methodological review of the literature is pursued based on this classification system. Examples from the environmental economics literature are highlighted. A discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of each type of jointly estimated model is then presented. International comparisons of productivity have used exchange rates or purchasing power parity (PPP) to make output comparable
across countries. While aggregate PPP holds well in the long run, sectoral deviations are persistent. It raises the need for
a currency conversion factor at the same level of aggregation as the output that is compared. Mapping prices from household
expenditure surveys into the industrial classification of sectors and adjusting for taxes and international trade, I obtain
an expenditure-based sector-specific PPP. Using detailed price data for up to 8 years between 1970 and 1999, I test whether
the sectoral PPPs adequately capture differential changes in relative prices between countries. They work well for agriculture
and the majority of industrial sectors, but not for most service sectors and for manufacturing sectors that produce differentiated
products. Using the most appropriate conversion factor for each industry, productivity convergence is found to be taking place
in all but a few industries for a group of 14 OECD countries. The latter results are robust to the base year used for the

In spite of a broad consensus on the importance of motivation for the transfer of learning from training to the job in work organizations, studies investigating motivation to transfer are limited. This study combines the self‐determination theory, the expectancy theory and the theory of planned behaviour to provide a theoretical framework for investigating attitudes towards training content, relatedness and instructional satisfaction as predictors of two dimensions of transfer motivation: autonomous motivation to transfer and controlled motivation to transfer. A total of 444 subjects, trained in 23 occupational health and safety training courses, completed multi‐item questionnaires immediately following training. Structural equation modelling procedures indicate that controlled motivation to transfer was affected by attitudes towards training content and that autonomous motivation to transfer was affected by attitudes, relatedness and instructional satisfaction. The results are discussed in terms of theoretical and practical implications for training effectiveness associated with the interplay of motivation and transfer in professional training. 相似文献
