‘Does it Really Affect Me?’ Tourism Destination Narratives,Destination Image,and the Intention to Visit: Examining the Moderating Effect of Narrative Transportation

The extent to which tourism destination marketing narratives with different themes influence readers by imaginatively ‘transporting’ them is quite varied. This study investigates the different degrees of influence such narratives have on destination image and the intention to visit, exploring how the intensity of readers' experiences of being transported by narratives with different themes can influence their intention to visit the places described. Our results reveal the extent to which different narrative themes affect destination image and significantly influence readers' intention to visit. The extent to which narratives with different themes make readers feel transported also has a significant moderating effect on their intention to visit. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

The potential impact of climate change on Taiwan's agriculture

This paper intends to estimate the potential impact of climate change on Taiwan's agricultural sector. Yield response regression models are used to investigate the climate change's impact on 60 crops. A price‐endogenous mathematical programming model is then used to simulate the welfare impacts of yield changes under various climate change scenarios. Results suggest that both warming and climate variations have a significant but non‐monotonic impact on crop yields. Society as a whole would not suffer from warming, but a precipitation increase may be devastating to farmers.     

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE SASKATCHEWAN WHEAT ECONOMY

The agricultural system in Saskatchewan has undergone an adaptive change in the past fifty years. This change is in large part due to the technology adopted by the farmers in Saskatchewan. This paper examines some of the changes that have occurred in Saskatchewan agriculture and employs the indirect innovation model of technical change to explain these changes. The relative price change in fuel, machinery, labour and land explained most of the change in the land/labour ratio in Saskatchewan. Implications were then drawn from the analysis regarding farm size in agricultural research.
Le systéme agricole en Saskatchewan a subi un changement approprié au cours des cinquante derniéres années. Ce changement est dû, en grande partie, à la technologie adoptée par les fermiers de la Saskatchewan. Cette étude examine certaines des modifications apparues dans l'agriculture de la Saskatchewan et, afin de les expliquer, elle utilise comme modéle les innovations indirectes intervenues dans le changement technologique. La relative fluctuation des prix de l'essence, des machines, de la main-d'oeuvre et des terres a entrainé en grande partie le changement du rapport terre/main-d'oeuvre en Saskatchewan. Des implications ont ensuite été tirées de l'analyse se rapportant à la grandeur des fermes dans la recherche agricole.

以老挝南立1-2水电站为基础,分析老挝南立1-2水电站项目在立项和可靠性研究、协议谈判和国内政府审批、融资、项目建设和运营等阶段的特点,提出在境外投资项目过程中应做好风险预测和风险分摊工作,充分利用国内外有利政策,与政府及合作单位建立良好关系,以及注重品牌建设等措施,为境外投资项目的规划、融资、建设、运营提供了一定的借鉴和参考。

分3个历史阶段研究中国古代黄河流域水权制度变迁：第1阶段为先秦至汉朝,这一时期是我国封建社会的建立、发展时期,国家开始制定正式的水权法律制度,但比较零碎而不成体系.第2阶段是唐、宋、元朝,这一时期是我国封建社会发展的鼎盛时期,以国家法律为主导的正式制度极为完善和发达.第3阶段包括明、清2朝,阐述中国古代自先秦至唐、宋、元朝水权制度、分析自先秦至唐、宋、元朝各个不同朝代时期水权制度特点,讨论这段历史期间制度变迁的原因.     

USE OF ERRORS OF PREDICTION IN IMPROVING FORECAST ACCURACY: AN APPLICATION TO WOOL IN AUSTRALIA

Over the past 20 years, the RAE has produced commodity forecasts in BAE Trends in Australian Agricultural Commodities, Farm Costs and Farm Incomes and other commodity outlook publications. There have been several studies on the accuracy of the forecasts, either comparing RAE forecasts with naive forecasts or making simple calculations of biases and standard deviations. Such approaches are not sufficiently informative in that they do not give any indication of what has caused the inaccuracies, nor of the timing of significant changes in prediction accuracy. In this analysis, an attempt is made to improve upon this situation using some tools of time series analysis.     

天然次生柞木林光照强度变化规律观测

对天然次生柞木林内的不同层次及林内外的光照强度进行了日、季变化规律的研究。晴天具有相似的日变化规律，呈单峰曲线，中午１２时左右达到最大值；而在多云条件下，上述规律常常被破坏，季节变化，变化趋势一致，７月份达最大值，但随着离度下降，峰值逐渐消失；对照区和林冠表面受气候条件影响较大。还对柞木林内光照强度的分布格局进行了研究，近９５％的太阳辐射能被主林层吸收。     

An experimental approach to valuing new differentiated products

An experimental store was created to evaluate initial demand for locally produced and guaranteed tender steak products as a more realistic alternative to contingent valuation (CV) and dichotomous-choice experimental methods. Strengths of the approach are incentive compatibility, a realistic consumption set, and a familiar choice environment. Consumers selected among USDA Choice, premium quality, lean, guaranteed tender and locaily produced strip steaks. A double-hurdle count data model indicated initial willingness-to-pay (WTP) for locally produced steak comparable to prior CV results, but demand was highly elastic. Demand for premium quality steak crowded out demand for the guaranteed tender product, contrasting with prior dichotomous-choice experimental results.
