Arbeitsbezogene Erwartungen und Commitment von IT-Freelancern

Seit einigen Jahren besteht eine Tendenz zur Flexibilisierung von Besch?ftigungsverh?ltnissen. Dennoch hat sich die Forschung bislang nur wenig damit befasst, welche Konsequenzen diese für die Loyalit?t und das Commitment von freiberuflich t?tigen Mitarbeitern aufweist. Daher beantwortet der Aufsatz auf Grundlage einer empirischen Studie unter IT-Freelancern die Frage, unter welchen Bedingungen Freelancer Commitment zu einem Unternehmen empfinden. Au?erdem wird analysiert, welche (unterschiedlichen) Erwartungen Freelancer an ihre Arbeit richten. Insgesamt zeigt sich, dass die Befragten durchaus Commitment gegenüber ihrem Arbeitgeber empfinden. Insbeondere eine affektive Bindung ist zu beobachten.

On the theory of monopolistic competition under demand uncertainty

Establishing a model of a monopolistically competitive industry in which risk-averse Cournot firms act under demand uncertainty and in which the output of individual firms and the number of firms in the industry are both endogenously determined by free entry and exit, this paper attempts to investigate the effects of demand uncertainty on the market equilibrium of a monopolistically competitive industry. It is assumed, for calculus simplification, that the firms are identical in the sense that they have the same monopolistic power and the same production technology. The paper presents some interesting and useful comparative statics results which are contrary to those proposed in the existing papers.This is a revised version of my paper which was firstly presented to the annual meeting of the Japanese Association of International Economics held in 1988 and then included partially in my book published in 1989. The employment consequences of technological advance,demand and labor costs in 16 German industries

The decline of employment in German manufacturing industries is often attributed to technological advance, declines in demand and to increases in labor costs. Using business survey data, the study evaluates the relative importance of these determinants in 16 industries. The empirical finding of a series of probit estimates is that in most cases demand plays a dominant role, in some cases technological progress is an important factor, but in no case are labor costs a decisive determinant. Results may depend on the short-run nature of the analysis.
