Segmenting industrial competitive markets: An example from air freight

This paper applies a disaggregated approach to segment industrial markets under competitive structures taking the air-freight market for the high-technology product industry in Taiwan as a case study. Data from firms is used to examine the structure of the air freight industry and we find that carriers are clustered into two strategic groups, express and forwarder. Pricing is a leading strategy recognized by customers for forwarders, whereas service punctuality and freight security are the winning strategies for express. The high-tech freight market is classifiable by shipment destination and size.

岩层产状与其解析式

野外岩层的产状,可以由罗盘测出,但野外限于各种条件,也只可以测出大致产状,甚至,同一地点的岩层,就可以看出由于形变而产状不同,或岩层面凸凹不平,很难测出岩层的真实产状.但现在测量手段的发展,使得岩层的产状,可以从宏观上测量、计算,结果更接近于实际产状的平均值,更真实地反映了岩层的空间赋存状态.

农业产业集群化发展是实现农业现代化的重要途径。在农业产业集群发展过程中流通路径对其发展壮大起到关键作用。依据对安徽省目前农业产业集群的现状分析,农业产业集群的基本流通路径可以归结为农户到龙头企业、农户到合作组织和农户到批发市场三种,对这三种路径进一步研究表明现存流通路径存在诸多的缺陷和发展障碍。通过对流通渠道创新、经营方式创新、交易手段创新和流通技术创新四个流通创新方面可以解决安徽省现存农业产业集群的问题,促进农业产业集群的深化发展。     

谈技术指标在期货价格预测中的应用

针对期货价格预测这一问题,本文主要介绍了几种与计算机相关的技术指标,充分利用已有数据和博弈大师软件所得出的图表进行预测分析,几种技术指标之间的优势得到了有效的互补,提高了预测的准确率。最后结合具体的期货品种进行了分析,进一步验证了预测的有效性。     

CEO DUALITY AND FIRM PERFORMANCE: WHAT'S THE FUSS?

Rising shareholder activism following poor corporate performance and a subsequent drop in shareholder value at many major U.S. corporations had rekindled interest in duality and corporate governance. Despite limited empirical evidence, duality (chairman of the board and CEO are the same individual) has been blamed, in many cases, for the poor performance, and failure of firms to adapt to a changing environment. In examining the relationship between duality and firm performance, this study considers the announcement effects of changes in duality status, accounting measures of operating performance for firms that have changed their duality structure, and long-term measures of performance for firms that have had a consistent history of a duality structure. Our results suggest that: (1) the market is indifferent to changes in a firm's duality status; (2) there is little evidence of operating performance changes around changes in duality status; and (3) there is only weak evidence that duality status affects long-term performance, after controlling for other factors that might impact that performance.
