An investigation of ingratiation as a career management strategy: evidence from Singapore

In spite of the recognition that career politics, and therefore ingratiation, is widely used to manage careers, there is a dearth of empirical studies on ingratiation as a career management strategy. Consistent with Ferris and Kacmar's (1988) suggestion, the study reported here investigated the conditions (defined by situational variables, career concerns and personality variables) under which ingratiation is used as a career management strategy. Data were obtained through a structured questionnaire from professional employees (N = 214) in public and private sector organizations in Singapore.

Factor analysis of the 21-item career concerns scale revealed four solutions representing internal and external career concerns. The results of the hierarchical regression revealed that situational variables explained most of the variance in ingratiation, followed by career concerns and personality variables. Among the individual variables, task ambiguity, supervisor reward power, managerial responsibility and need for achievement were significant while personal success approached significance. Internal career concern of autonomy development was unrelated to ingratiation. Of the interaction terms, only supervisor reward power and Machiavellianism approached significance. Directions for future studies are suggested.     

互联网金融产品用户采纳行为影响因素实证研究

随着互联网的发展,以互联网为代表的现代信息技术正对现代金融产品产生深刻的影响。余额宝正是目前互联网金融产品的代表,一经出现就受到众人的追捧。本文以余额宝为例,从行为科学的视角,按照技术接受模型的研究方法,通过问卷调查和结构方程统计分析,对互联网金融产品用户服务采纳进行了实证研究。结果表明:消费者所感知到的产品的有用性及感知到的利得是余额宝推进的关键,同时消费者对余额宝采纳的风险因素以及社会影响因素也有所关注。     

东亚新兴经济体经济周期特征分析

东亚新兴经济体经济周期的波动性有不断减弱的趋势,但在一些突发事件如东南亚金融危机等事件的影响下,经济波动可能会加剧。东亚经济周期波动是非对称的,且大多数国家(地区)的非对称性都表现为经济周期波动的上升阶段长于下降阶段。进入20世纪90年代,尤其是2000年后,东亚新兴经济体的经济周期波动呈现了较强的相关性和同步性,2001年以后,东亚新兴经济体与世界经济周期波动之间也呈现出较强的同步性。     

Optimal arbitrage strategies on stock index futures under position limits

Assuming the absence of market frictions, deterministic interest rates, and certainty in dividend payouts from the stocks in the index basket, an arbitrageur can lock in the profit of a positive (negative) arbitrage basis in a stock index futures by adopting a short (long) futures strategy. In addition, the arbitrageur may improve the arbitrage profit by adopting the so‐called early unwinding strategy of liquidating the position before maturity, or more aggressively from the long position directly to the short position or vice versa. In this study, we examine the optimal arbitrage strategies in stock index futures with position limits and transaction costs. In our analysis, the index arbitrage basis is assumed to follow the Brownian Bridge process. The model formulation of the option value functions leads to a coupled system of variational inequalities. We determine the values of the arbitrage opportunities and the optimal threshold values of the arbitrage basis at which the arbitrageur should optimally close an existing position or open a new index arbitrage position. 野生型p53基因与ADM联合作用对肝癌细胞株BEL7404生长的影响研究

通过转染野生型p53基因(wt-p53)联合盐酸阿霉素(ADM)作用于人肝癌细胞株BEL7404,研究二者联合作用对肝癌细胞生长的影响.将克隆有wt-p53的pUHD10-3质粒,通过脂质体(梭华-SofastTM) 介导,转染肝癌细胞株BEL7404,同时,在培养液中加入ADM,用MTT法分析细胞的生长情况;荧光显微镜观察BEL7404细胞的形态改变;流式细胞仪分析细胞周期和凋亡的情况.结果为wt-p53转染BEL7404株后,细胞的生长均受到抑制:在转染第4天,BEL7404细胞的生长抑制率达52.53%,ADM作用组的生长抑制率达46.03%,联合作用组细胞的生长抑制最明显,为73.86%(P<0.05).单独转染p53基因,不会促进细胞凋亡的发生;同样单独ADM作用,细胞能被阻滞在G2期,能促进细胞株凋亡的发生.而联合作用后细胞被阻滞在G1期,不仅能促进细胞株凋亡的发生,且凋亡率是最高的(P<0.05).wt-p53能明显抑制肝癌细胞株BEL7404的生长,联合ADM后对细胞的抑制作用更明显,并能促进细胞凋亡.

The Analysis of Chinese Traditional Family Culture
