论述了在电力市场初期我国缺少实施大用户直供电所必须具备的若干条件,分析了当前开展大用户直供电存在的问题及可能造成的影响,指出开展直供是改革的趋势但不可急于求成.     

How Do Institutional Investors Affect Corporate Performance? Evidence from Private Placements in China

Using data on private placements in China from 2007 to 2014, we show that abnormal returns of issuing companies’ stocks are significantly positive on the announcement day, but they become significantly negative during the event window [?20, +20]. Participation by institutional investors has a significant and negative impact on the short-term stock returns. This negative effect is also present in issuing companies’ long-term stock returns and profitability. Furthermore, we find that participation by institutional investors reduces dividend payments after private placements. Overall, our findings do not support the monitoring hypothesis of institutional investors’ role in corporate finance but are consistent with the management entrenchment hypothesis and shareholder pessimism hypothesis.     

The 52-week high momentum strategy in international stock markets

We study the 52-week high momentum strategy in international stock markets proposed by George and Hwang [George, T., Hwang, C.Y., 2004. The 52-week high and momentum investing. Journal of Finance 59, 2145-2176.]. This strategy produces profits in 18 of the 20 markets studied, and the profits are significant in 10 markets. The 52-week high momentum profits exist independently from the Jegadeesh and Titman [Jegadeesh, N., Titman, S., 1993. Returns to buying winners and selling losers: implications for market efficiency. Journal of Finance 48, 65-91.] individual stock and Moskowitz and Grinblatt [Moskowitz, T.J., Grinblatt, M., 1999. Do industries explain momentum? Journal of Finance 54, 1249-1290] industry momentum strategies. These profits do not show reversals in the long run. We find that the 52-week high is a better predictor of future returns than macroeconomic risk factors or the acquisition price. The individualism index, a proxy to the level of overconfidence, has no explanatory power to the variations of the 52-week high momentum profits across different markets. However, the profits are no longer significant in most markets once transaction costs are taken into account.     

An investigation of restaurant food safety performance: A comparison between ethnic and nonethnic and chain and independent restaurants in Louisiana

This study examines health inspection data from casual dining restaurants and compares differences of food code violations between ethnic and nonethnic restaurants. A total of 7,415 violations were retrieved from the restaurant inspection reports of 769 restaurants. Ethnic restaurants have more violations than nonethnic restaurant in categories related to food time/temperature violations, cross contamination, and food condition/surface/labels. Nonethnic and chain restaurants had fewer behavioral violations than ethnic and independently operated restaurants. Ethnic restaurants were 1.74 times more likely than nonethnic restaurants to have critical violations. Meanwhile, independent restaurants were 1.64 times more likely than chain restaurants to have critical violations.

财政分权增加了政府环境治理效率吗?——来自我国31省市的证据

现有文献主要讨论地方政府的整体效率或某类公共品供给效率。如果将环境质量看作是公共物品,将地方政府视为环境质量的提供者,那么财政分权是否提高了政府环境治理效率?基于我国31省市1998~2010年的环境治理支出数据,利用数据包络分析法和面板Tobit模型计算并分析了影响政府环境治理支出效率的因素。回归结果表明,财政分权与环境治理支出效率呈负相关关系,腐败降低了地方政府的环境治理支出效率。     

企业经营风险的成因分析及其控制

从根本上讲,企业经营活动的核心问题,就是要在收益和风险之间寻找最佳的平衡点。深入分析企业经营风险的成因,在此基础上提出有效控制经营风险的对策建议,可供企业经营者参考和借鉴。不同企业的经营风险各有其不尽相同的成因,就其一般性因素来看,可分为企业外部因素和企业内在因素两方面。然而,尤其重要的是,必须结合企业自身特点,从偿债能力、运营能力和盈利能力三个方面对公司面临的经营风险做出评估。通过对某市电力设备公司经营风险的实证分析,研究发现,预测、确定经营风险具体存在于哪个环节,可以为防范经营风险奠定基础。与此相应,通过对企业经营风险进行实证分析,可帮助企业掌握控制经营风险的一般策略,以及与其发展状况相匹配的控制经营风险的具体方法。
