(Under)Mining local residential property values: A semiparametric spatial quantile autoregression

Rock mining operations, including limestone and gravel production, have considerable adverse effects on residential quality of life due to elevated noise and dust levels resulting from dynamite blasting and increased truck traffic. This paper provides the first estimates of the effects of rock mining—an environmental disamenity—on local residential property values. We focus on the relationship between a house's price and its distance from a nearby rock mine. Our analysis studies Delaware County, Ohio, which, given its unique features, provides a natural environment for the valuation of property‐value‐suppressing effects of rock mines on nearby houses. We improve upon the conventional approach to evaluating adverse effects of environmental disamenities based on hedonic house price functions. Specifically, in the pursuit of robust estimates, we develop a novel (semiparametric) partially linear spatial quantile autoregressive model which accommodates unspecified nonlinearities, distributional heterogeneity, as well as spatial dependence in the data. We derive the consistency and normality limit results for our estimator as well as propose a consistent model specification test. We find statistically and economically significant property‐value‐suppressing effects of being located near an operational rock mine which gradually decline to insignificant near‐zero values at roughly a 10‐mile distance. Our estimates suggest that, all else equal, a house located a mile closer to a rock mine is priced, on average, at about 2.3–5.1% discount, with more expensive properties being subject to larger markdowns.     

Multi-stakeholders’ assessment of bike sharing service quality based on DEMATEL–VIKOR method

ABSTRACT

Bike sharing is a sustainable mode of urban transportation. Assessing the perceived service quality is essential to improve the development of bike sharing. Most of the existing research evaluates the service quality of bike sharing only from the perspective of its users. This study assesses the perceived quality gap among four different stakeholders including government regulators, platform operators, bike association and users. First, an evaluation criteria system consisting of sixteen criteria obtained from the five dimensions of tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy is constructed based on a revised service performance model. Thereafter, a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making model that combines Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) with VIsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) is proposed. Then, the model is applied to evaluate the service quality of bike sharing in Xi’an City. Finally, some useful suggestions are given to improve the bike sharing service quality from the perspective of multi-stakeholders.

本研究以我国企业女性高管为研究对象,运用扎根理论的研究方法,探索影响女性高管职业成长的心理因素。研究发现:(1)职业价值观影响女性高管的职业选择过程,引导其努力工作以达到自身目标,驱动其职业成长;(2)较高的自我效能感提升女性高管对自己的认可度,使其对自己的能力更为自信,并在不断改变的过程中,驱动其职业成长;(3)职业价值观对工作投入、职业韧性和终身学习等职业行为有促进作用,进而驱动女性高管的职业成长;(4)女性高管的绩效成就、心理素质和思维方式等阶段性成就反馈作用于自我效能感,帮助女性高管形成较高的职业发展目标,并反映到职业价值观层面,进一步驱动其职业成长。     

Carbon performance and corporate financial performance: The moderating role of consumer awareness of corporate social responsibility

The paper detects the association between carbon performance (CP) and corporate financial performance (CFP) and the moderating role of consumer awareness (CA) of corporate social responsibility (CSR). We find that CP has consistent positive impacts on CFP in the short and long term, whereas CA has opposite moderating effects on CFP. These results indicate that companies should increase corporate value by improving CP. In addition, improving CA of CSR is an effective way to promote CFP.

国内吸收法认为,当国内需求没有完全吸收其产出时,就会通过净出口产生贸易顺差.中国持续的经常项目顺差似乎与消费需求不足有关.收入是决定居民消费需求的最基本因素之一.本文通过实证分析我国居民的消费与收入变化的关系来考察我国居民的消费需求,结合国内吸收法的思想来分析我国的经常项目动态.     

中国正在重蹈日本的覆辙吗——一个基于经济学文献的比较分析

"与主要工业化国家经济摩擦加剧、资产价格飙升",21世纪前10年的中国经济表现与20世纪80年代的日本经济表现有着惊人的相似之处。在现有文献的基础上,本文较为系统地比较分析了今日中国与20世纪80年代日本的经济社会发展状况,发现中日两国相似的经济表象背后存在着显著的结构性差异。国际政治、经济形势突变,国内宏观政策失误都有可能导致泡沫形成、甚至破裂,这并不可怕,问题的关键在于一个大国经济体是否具备了实现持久稳定发展的结构性要件。与经济增速和经济总量的快速变化相比,实现政治、社会和经济结构的现代化应是一件更为紧迫的事情。在这个意义上,"中国是否会重蹈日本覆辙"即使不是一个伪命题,至少也是极具误导性的。     

门户网站品牌忠诚度影响因素的实证研究

当前我国门户网站的竞争日趋激烈,对消费者门户网站品牌忠诚进行研究具有重要的现实意义。本文基于关系承诺一信任理论,建立了门户网站品牌忠诚度影响因素的概念模型,并通过问卷调查对模型进行了验证,以期对中国本土门户网站的品牌管理和关系营销管理有所裨益。研究结果表明,对门户网站品牌忠诚影响较大的因素是顾客对网站核心服务质量的满意度、顾客所处环境的规范习惯的明确性和导向性;同时,这些因素通过关系承诺的中介效应来间接影响门户网站品牌忠诚。
