Der Einfluss von Preiserhöhungen auf Konsumenteneinstellungen: Eine experimentelle Studie

Unternehmen neigen vor allem in ges?ttigten M?rkten zum mengenorientierten Preiswettbewerb und setzen Preissenkungen vorzugsweise zur Profilierung ein, wodurch die Preiskriege und der Verdr?ngungswettbewerb weiterhin zunehmen. Preis- und Wertsch?pfungsspielr?ume werden trotz der hohen Gewinnpotenziale bislang von Unternehmen nicht hinreichend ausgenutzt, da negative Reaktionen von Seiten der Konsumenten befürchtet werden. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist es das Ziel dieses Beitrags, zu untersuchen, wie ein Preisanstieg durch geeignete kommunikationspolitische Ma?nahmen begleitet werden kann, um eine negative Beeinflussung der wahrgenommenen Preisfairness zu minimieren.     

Conditionally heteroscedastic intensity‐dependent marking of log Gaussian Cox processes

Spatial marked point processes are models for systems of points which are randomly distributed in space and provided with measured quantities called marks. This study deals with marking, that is methods of constructing marked point processes from unmarked ones. The focus is density‐dependent marking where the local point intensity affects the mark distribution. This study develops new markings for log Gaussian Cox processes. In these markings, both the mean and variance of the mark distribution depend on the local intensity. The mean, variance and mark correlation properties are presented for the new markings, and a Bayesian estimation procedure is suggested for statistical inference. The performance of the new approach is studied by means of simulation experiments. As an example, a tropical rainforest data is modelled.     

Joint Production,Externalities, and the Regulation of Production Networks

Real production systems are often vertically integrated in thesense that one production process uses the unwanted joint product of another production process as input.This interrelationship links in a non-obvious way the different negative externalities stemming from theproduction processes. An empirical example is the sulphuric acid industry. Our model of a vertically integratedproduction system shows how internalising one currently existing externality may create another externalitywhich has thus far not been existent. We also discuss how environmental policy could deal with this problemwhen regulating integrated production systems.

Stochastic properties of german stock returns

We investigate various distributional properties of German stock returns, like serial correlation, the existence of higher moments and calendar effects, with a focus on the robustness of various empirical measures to a nonstandard distribution of the returns. We exhibit the well known Monday effect also for German stocks, and show that its significance, like that of tests for serial correlation, depends on distributional assumptions which are often overlooked.     

Two Perspectives on DEA: Unveiling the Link between CCR and Shephard

In this paper we contrast the DEA and activity analysis approaches by Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes (1978) and Shephard (1970), respectively. We show that by appropriately normalizing Shephard's output price model the two approaches coincide.
