This study examines the hierarchical relationship between the three dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation (EO): proactiveness,
innovativeness, and risk-taking. Information Processing Theory and Strategic Choice Theory were utilized to investigate the
roles of both industrial munificence and opportunity perceptions in the formation of firm-level EO. Data collected from 227
organizations in four countries suggests that innovative and risk-taking behaviors are fundamentally driven by proactiveness
and the perceived availability of opportunities in an industry. As such, proactiveness appears to be the leading and primary
factor in encouraging and enabling the other dimensions of EO. The research and managerial implications of these findings

It is well established that consumer acceptance of a brand extension depends on how strongly it fits with its parental origins. Less appreciated is how this acceptance also depends on the mental association created in consumers’ minds between the extension and its parent brand. Our investigation considers the gateway role played by this association’s mental accessibility in allowing extensions to fully benefit from their parental heritage. Six studies examine the effect of reinstating an extension’s association with its parent brand on extension evaluations. When reinstatement enhances the parental association’s accessibility, it strengthens the parent brand’s influence, leading to more or less favorable extension evaluations contingent upon the extension’s fit with its parental origins. This paper identifies ,re-emergence, of the co-location of elements of the production 'process with the distribution process in a range of consumer series. It suggests that this trend is being facilitated by technological development, particularity in control systems, that allow many of the benefits of centralized production to be achieved with decentralized production and that co-location satisfies additional consumer preferences, not achievable with centralized production. In light of the increasing interest in understanding the behavioral side of competitive decision making, this paper examines how the price-cutting momentum (PCM) created by other competiors' reactions to an initiator's price cut influences pricing decisions. We explore the PCM construct and present the results of a study examining the effect of PCM on the price recommendations of retail grocery pricing executives. We find that PCM influences pricing reactions inboth low-search and high-search markets. For the broad identification of a risk for a serious mental disorder, valid and reliable screeners are needed to detect those most likely benefitting from a time-consuming and costly in-depth clinical assessment. In the early detection of psychoses, multiple screeners for an ultra-high-risk have already been suggested. Yet, no screener explicitly targets an increased risk according to the basic symptoms (BS) criteria. We therefore explored the Frankfurt Complaint Questionnaire (FCQ) as a potential screener for BS in comparison with their gold standard clinical assessment using the Schizophrenia Proneness Instrument (SPI-A/SPI-CY) by examining its convergent (agreement between screener and gold standard, calculated by the overall percentages of agreement between FCQ and SPI-A/SPI-CY) and concurrent (degree to which a screener can identify individuals with the target condition, examined by diagnostic accuracy measures calculated using thresholds of receiver operating characteristic curves) validity. The sample consisted of 81 patients of a psychosis early detection service (41 with an at-risk mental state or psychosis, and 40 with a nonpsychotic mental disorder). Only two visual perception disturbances reached a beyond-chance level of agreement between FCQ and SPI-A/SPI-CY. For the BS criteria ‘cognitive perceptive basic symptoms’ and ‘cognitive disturbances’, only insufficient agreement between assessment techniques was detected with Cohen’s kappa being 0.228 and 0.130, respectively, with an overestimation by the FCQ. Diagnostic likelihood ratios indicated only a clinically irrelevant increase in the probability of detecting BS criteria; thus, the concurrent validity of both the total of all and of only criteria-relevant FCQ items was insufficient. Both concurrent and convergent validity of the FCQ were poor, and the FCQ dramatically overestimated clinician-assessed risk. Our results suggest that the FCQ should not be used as a screener for BS criteria and that the convergent validity is not guaranteed on the basis of face validity alone, but has to be formally assessed. 相似文献

During an action research study a collaborative business engineering approach was developed, applied, and evaluated. Key characteristic of the approach is its focus on the participative design of organizational processes and supporting information systems. Following the approach, various design activities are carried out in close cooperation with groups of stakeholders supported by a Group Support System (GSS). This paper describes and reflects on the execution of these collaborative design activities in a police organization. Lessons learned with respect to GSS and collaborative design are formulated. Key insights illustrate the stakeholders' perception of the group technology and the way in which it facilitated an efficient design process. 相似文献

This article examines the concept of creating shared value (CSV) as articulated by Michael Porter and Mark Kramer, in non-Western and Western contexts. We define non-Western contexts as those in so-called “developing” countries and emerging economies, whereas Western ones pertain to dominant thinking in “developed” regions. We frame our research in postcolonial theory and offer an overview of existing critiques of CSV. We conduct a critical discourse analysis of 66 articles to identify how CSV is being cited by authors, and potential underlying power dynamics that affect its relevance for non-Western contexts. Our review exposes increasingly critical views about the paradoxical positioning of CSV as an instrumental concept that can offer “win-win” solutions, particularly from those working in non-Western settings. Western perspectives generally tend to be more supportive of its instrumental nature, but also recognize the increasing complexity of the business-society nexus and stakeholder engagement. We argue that the CSV framework requires further development to maintain credibility and applicability, especially in non-Western domains. 相似文献
