Coauthorship links actors at the micro-level of scientists. Through electronic databases we now have enough information to
compare entire research disciplines over time. We compare the complete longitudinal coauthorship networks for four research
disciplines (biotechnology, mathematics, physics and sociology) for 1986–2005. We examined complete bibliographies of all
researchers registered at the national Slovene Research Agency. Known hypotheses were confirmed as were three new hypotheses.
There were different coauthoring cultures. However, these cultures changed over time in Slovenia. The number of coauthored
publications grew much faster than solo authored productions, especially after independence in 1991 and the integration of
Slovenian science into broader EU systems. Trajectories of types of coauthorship differed across the disciplines. Using blockmodeling,
we show how coauthorship structures change in all disciplines. The most frequent form was a core-periphery structure with
multiple simple cores, a periphery and a semi-periphery. The next most frequent form had this structure but with bridging
cores. Bridging cores consolidate the center of a discipline by giving it greater coherence. These consolidated structures
appeared at different times in different disciplines, appearing earliest in physics and latest in biotechnology. In 2005,
biotechnology had the most consolidated center followed by physics and sociology. All coauthorship networks expanded over
time. By far, new recruits went into either the semi-periphery or the periphery in all fields. Two ‘lab’ fields, biotechnology
and physics, have larger semi-peripheries than peripheries. The reverse holds for mathematics and sociology, two ‘office’
disciplines. Institutional affiliations and shared interests all impact the structure of collaboration in subtle ways. 相似文献

This article focuses on the New Keynesian multiple-equations small-open-economy macroeconomic model to illustrate deeper relations
among model parameters. These relations are more important than the basic values of the parameters because it shows how the
system behaves when some changes in the economy occur. The first stage of the analysis introduces a theoretical model. The
second stage of the analysis estimates the states and parameters of the model on the quarterly data of the Czech economy.
The third stage of the analysis focuses on the transfer function of this model and makes a deeper behavior analysis. In the
final stage, the article demonstrates the stability of the model, shown through the impulse functions of the model. This shows
response of the macroeconomic model to unanticipated shocks.

This paper estimates the size of the economic impact generated by the Slovenian health care sector on the national economy in the 2009–2014 period. The study separately calculates output, income, employment, value-added and import multipliers for the Slovenian health care sector based on input-output analysis covering 49 sectors. Initially, values of simple output multipliers for all years are estimated. When the re-circulation of final demand through households is added to the direct and indirect economic effects, the values of total output multipliers considerably exceeds 2. The results suggest that an additional million EUR of final demand in the health care sector will, based on different scenarios, increase the total employment by 20 to 30 units. Moreover, the type II employment multipliers imply that under the best-case scenario one employee in the health care sector creates an additional 0.7 unit of employment in remaining structures of the observed economy. Stability evaluation of the derived multipliers suggests that the domestic health care sector may reduce volatilities in production, income and employment and consequently act as an important shock absorber in the economy. 相似文献

Geotourism as a rapidly evolving and attractive tourism form expands into many regions. This ‘new’ tourism form brings new research issues to be solved including, e.g. geosite identification, geosite assessment, geopark establishment, (geo)tourist trail definitions. One of the biggest challenges of researchers not only in the field of geotourism is to set specific value of an individual locality. The aim of this paper is to compare selected assessment methods of geosites. Different quantitative methods were selected due to fact that it is possible to compare final score of assessments. The results show that using different assessment methods on selected localities gives different results and geosite rankings. Based on this fact, further research in the field of geosite assessment is needed for (geo)tourism planning and management as discussed in this paper. 相似文献

The number of virtual teams is increasing in today's workplaces. In virtual teams, the members can have different cultural backgrounds, they often work in different countries and are professionals in their own fields. In addition, as such diverse and dispersed teams communicate mainly through communication technology this raises the challenge for the team leader of how to unify the team and get the members to identify themselves with the team. This qualitative study focuses on four virtual team leaders and their attempts to strengthen the team members' identification with the team through computer-mediated communication. The results show four different tactics employed in enhancing identification with the team: catering for the individual, giving positive feedback, bringing out common goals and workings and talking up the team activities and face-to-face meetings. The roles of organizational change and technology in identification with virtual teams are also discussed. 相似文献

This article examines how the price knowledge of Finnish consumers has changed since the adoption of the euro. Our study measures price knowledge by comparing consumers’ price estimations with actual market prices at two points in time: before (October 2001) and after (March 2002) the changeover to the euro. Furthermore, we study potential differences between three different age groups. We approach the issue using four determinants, namely (1) response percentage (the percentage of respondents who were able to give a price estimate); (2) the difference between the median of the market prices and the median of the price evaluations; (3) the difference between the average of the market prices and the average of the price evaluations; and (4) the average of the absolute deviations between the average of product prices and consumer price evaluations. Our results indicate that, on average, consumers know the prices of grocery products quite well despite the prevailing dispersion of actual prices in the market. Price knowledge was found to be rather good both before and after the introduction of the euro. Nevertheless, the good price knowledge after the changeover was probably because consumers remembered the prices asked in the old currency and converted them to euros. The majority of respondents were able to give price estimates that were within the range of actual price dispersion in stores. The results also show some deterioration in price knowledge after the advent of the euro. There was variation between different age groups, and it seems that the introduction of the euro has affected various groups differently. Consumers aged 30–50 years knew prices best both before and after the euro, whereas the ability to estimate prices had declined most among consumers above 50 years after the euro changeover. 相似文献

The new Czech Insolvency Act, featuring a brand new reorganization option for business debtors, has now been in force for over 3 years—a period of a severe downturn in the Czech (and the global) economy. This presents an opportunity to observe the workings of the new insolvency law on a “recession‐loaded” empirical dataset extracted from the on‐line insolvency register also introduced as part of the reform. In this article, we investigate the significance of the heterogeneity problem in banking efficiency research by using stochastic frontier techniques. The cost frontier function is estimated on a sample of banks from new European Union members from Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics (CEEB) for the 1998–2007 period. The results imply that environmental variables can only partly control for the presence of heterogeneity in the sample. By employing the ‘true’ random‐effects model as originally proposed by Greene (2005a, 2005b) , the unobserved heterogeneity that is typically associated with the complexity of the banking environment is additionally taken into account. This approach is found to result in considerably smaller differences in average country efficiency levels, which implies that CEEB countries represent a relatively homogeneous group in terms of bank performance. 相似文献

This article deals with the condition and changes of the HRM function in various European states. These changes have shown a shift of HRM tasks from HRM departments to managers themselves, and are according to the literature, this shift is known as devolution or decentralization. Our attention is focused on important factors in this process (from organizational ones, such as HRM strategies and policies, to more environmental ones, such as the sector or the state). Analysis shows that the country (as an institutional environment) sets the limits or encourages development towards devolution. HRM policy within the individual institutional context is of only secondary importance. Results show that country is a factor that fosters divergent tendencies and HRM policy accelerates convergence in HRM practice. 相似文献
