MULTIVARIATE STABLE FUTURES PRICES

This paper introduces new techniques for modeling financial data under the assumption that the data belong to the domain of attraction of a multivariate stable Pareto law. We provide tail estimators for the index of stability parameter a and the corresponding spectral measure. These estimators are then applied to test the associtation of the individual components and to compute estimates of portfolio risk and the covariation of commodities. A practical example is given using DM-dollar and JY-dollar exchange rates data.     

FURTHER EVIDENCE ON MEAN REVERSION IN THE AUSTRALIAN EXCHANGE RATE

In this paper we re‐examine the purchasing power parity (PPP) in Australia for the period February 1970 to April 2005 using an alternative method relative to the previous studies. We underlined large shocks due to depreciations that affected the Australian exchange rate, using outlier methodology. Once we adjusted the data of these outliers that had large, but either temporary or permanent effects on the series, our results show that there is no tendency for PPP in Australia to hold in the long run during this period.     

边缘区域经济发展的K-均值聚类分析研究——以闽南金三角边缘地带漳州市为例

边缘区域经济是指在地理上远离经济增长中心,在经济发展方式上没有较好的经济增长模式,在经济发展水平上落后于该区域经济平均水平的区域。在近30年的发展过程中,漳州市由于历史文化、发展道路选择等原因没有把握好难得的一次历史发展机遇,逐渐演化成"闽南金三角"内一个典型的边缘区域经济地区。通过对漳州市所辖10个县(市、区)进行k-均值聚类分析发现,漳州市各县(市、区)经济边缘化程度不同,可以分为三层。根据三层区域各自的资源禀赋和区位特点对各县提出针对性的经济建设对策,助推漳州市融入"闽南金三角"区域一体化中。
