Syndicated Loan Announcements and Borrower Value

Announcements of syndication loans increase borrowers' shareholder wealth if they are revolving credit agreements but not if they are term loans. Share price responses to revolving credit announcements are positive and significant, whereas the wealth effect for term loans is negative and significant. The results show that announcements from both the financial press and commercial information providers can affect borrower share price reaction. Overall, single syndication announcements appear to be more newsworthy than multiple announcements reported in the financial press, and we find evidence of information leakage, post‐announcement drift, or both.     

COMMERCIAL ART MUSIC

A commercial environment is clearly good for contemporary popular music but can ‘art’ music flourish in such an environment? In the past art music has prospered on a commercial basis and there are advantages in exposing art to commerce. For example, commercial patronage is likely to be more diverse and allow more room for experimentation than a single patron or subsidising body. Moreover, commerce encourages two‐way communication between artist and audience.     

证券法上的民事责任功能研究

我国证券市场在短短十几年的时间内,在募集资金、推动国有大中型企业改制、优化资源配置等方面发挥了不可替代的重要作用.但不容乐观的是伴随着证券市场的发展各种违法违规现象在不断发生.尽管我国对证券违法行为明令禁止,并对严重的违法行为加以行政处罚甚至刑事制裁,然而证券市场上的违法行为仍然禁而不止.究其原因,除了管理层对证券市场发展的总体政策摇摆不定,监管者对违法行为处理不力等因素外,证券法上未建立完善的民事责任制度是重要的原因.本文从证券法上的民事责任功能的探讨入手,阐述了证券法上的民事责任具有的功能是证券刑事责任、行政责任所不能替代的原因,进而论证了建立完善的证券民事责任的必要性.     

Some results about averaging in stochastic approximation

The paper presents some results concerning the averaging approach in a general linear regression model in one dimension under suitable conditions about the martingale structure of errors. At first asymptotics of the primary and averaged estimators are discussed. Then it is shown that variances of estimators can be consistently estimated by appropriate integrated squared deviations functionals. Finally applications to the construction of confidence regions are considered.     

银行监管理论的发展趋势——监管有效性理论

新的金融环境下,传统的监管理论遭遇挑战,其有效性受到置疑。监管有效性理论立足新问题,着重从资本监管、市场纪律和激励相容三个方面予以改进,试图提高银行监管的有效性。鉴于我国银行监管缺乏效率的现状,监管有效性理论具有一定的借鉴价值。     

我国县域经济可持续发展问题与对策探析

县域经济已经成为我国国民经济的重要组成部分。目前我国县域经济存在发展不平衡、产业层次和劳动力素质低下、自然资源浪费、生态环境恶化、产业要素缺乏、国家投入不合理等问题。我们应该制定县域经济的发展规划,加强对县域经济的分类指导;积极推进农业产业化,切实提高农民收入;提高劳动力素质;节约使用自然资源,保护生态环境;积极推进城镇化,促进城乡协调发展。     

“楼宇经济”生存环境及发展的实证研究

“楼宇经济”当前成为经济发展的亮点,吸引着许多城市不断推出发展“楼宇经济”的规划。“楼宇经济”是经济、社会发展到一定阶段的产物,是知识与经济相结合、企业经营方式转变的结果,具有集聚性、辐射性、“体制外性”、流动性等特点。“楼宇经济”形成和发展所依靠的不仅仅是建筑,需要有一定的经济、文化沉淀的环境和金融、交通、信息、人才、社会等综合“区域生态”因素的支撑。本文以上海静安区的“楼宇”调研为主要依据,对“楼宇”及“楼宇经济”形成的条件、特点以及完善,进行粗浅的探索。     

Assessing Systemic Importance With a Fuzzy Logic Inference System

Three metrics are designed to assess Colombian financial institutions' size, connectedness and non-substitutability as the main drivers of systemic importance: (i) centrality as net borrower in the money market network; (ii) centrality as payments originator in the large-value payment system network; and (iii) asset value of core financial services. An aggregated systemic importance index is calculated based on expert knowledge by using a fuzzy logic inference system. We use principal component analysis to calculate a benchmark index for comparison purposes. Overall similarities between both indexes put forward that expert knowledge aggregation is consistent with that based on a purely quantitative standard approach. Specific non-negligible differences concur with the nonlinear features of an approach whose intention is to replicate human reasoning. Both indexes are complementary and provide a comprehensive relative assessment of each financial institution's systemic importance in the Colombian case, in which the choice of metrics pursues the macroprudential perspective of financial stability.
