At a theoretical level this article discusses Piketty’s hypothesis that the distribution of income and wealth tends to become more concentrated over time when the rate of return on capital is greater than the growth rate of real output. We develop a post Keynesian model of growth and distribution showing that once capital is differentiated from wealth, the increase in income and wealth concentration actually occurs when the rate of valorization of financial and real estate assets is greater than the growth rate of real output, and that this situation may be triggered by financial liberalization.  相似文献

Several previous studies have investigated the effects of creativity and knowledge on innovation, both of them being considered prerequisites of innovation. However, the relationship among the different variables can be confusing due to redundant causality. In this paper, we study the influence of the mediating effect of creativity between breadth of knowledge (diverse sources of knowledge) and innovation by developing a conceptual model, and then test it on the Spanish ceramic cluster of Castellón. Empirical findings show that creativity is the mechanism through which the different sources of knowledge influence innovation. The implications of these results in relation to creativity, knowledge and innovation theory and practices are discussed.  相似文献

Wholly foreign multinational enterprises (WFs), joint-venture multinationals (JVs), state-owned enterprises (SOEs) pay higher wages than domestic private firms in Vietnamese manufacturing. In large samples of medium–large (20+ employees) firms, conditional differentials accounting for worker education and occupation, as well as capital intensity, size, and shares of female workers, were substantially smaller, but positive and significant. Wage levels and differentials varied substantially among industries. Conditional differentials remained positive and significant for WFs and JVs in most of the 11 industries examined, but estimates of SOE-private differentials were insignificant in most industries. Robustness checks using 2007 data yielded similar results.  相似文献

This paper studies goodness-of-fit tests for the bivariate Poisson distribution. Specifically, we propose and study several Cramér–von Mises type tests based on the empirical probability generating function. They are consistent against fixed alternatives for adequate choices of the weight function involved in their definition. They are also able to detect local alternatives converging to the null at a certain rate. The bootstrap can be used to consistently estimate the null distribution of the test statistics. A simulation study investigates the goodness of the bootstrap approximation and compares their powers for finite sample sizes. Extensions for testing goodness-of-fit for the multivariate Poisson distribution are also discussed.  相似文献

This article represents an analysis of and comments on the results of a regular survey of Russian enterprises operating in the real sector, which was conducted by the Institute of Economic Forecasting, Russian Academy of Sciences. It represents opinions of enterprises, the modern macroeconomic problems of which they believe to be the most acute. This article considers the responses of enterprises regarding how their activities have been affected by the mutual sanctions between Russia and Western countries, as well as by Russia’s WTO accession. We have shown the opinions of enterprises on their interests in the ruble exchange rate. This ref lects the current situation with the workforce at enterprises and gives data on their participation in solving of housing problems faced by their employees. This article contains information on how enterprises rate today’s level of competition with foreign manufacturers on Russian markets.  相似文献

In a crisis communication context, this work examines the impact of Psychological Ownership (PO) appeals on Ad message recipients’ development of feelings of PO. It demonstrates that increased levels of PO influence the managerially relevant outcomes attitude toward the company and purchase intentions. In doing so, it finds new application for the construct. In order to better understand the factors that may contribute to or mitigate PO, this research also investigates environmental consciousness as an additional antecedent and gender, persuasion knowledge, and geographic distance as moderators of individuals’ response to such appeals.
