Unfolding the impact of leadership and management on sustainability performance: Green and lean practices and guanxi as the dual mediators

This study aims to empirically evaluate the predictors that influence sustainability performance among manufacturing firms. Leadership and management, green and lean practices, and guanxi were examined to determine whether these predictors are directly and/or indirectly affecting sustainability performance; 160 valid responses were collected and partial-least-squares-structural-equation-modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that leadership and management positively influenced green and lean practices and green and lean practices positively influenced sustainability performance. Leadership and management also positively influenced guanxi. Interestingly, leadership and management and guanxi do not exert a significant direct influence on sustainability performance. The findings contributed to the development of the resource-based-view theory further by empirically exploring the significance of leadership and management coupled with green and lean practices as competencies and capability to drive sustainability performance. The testing of the dual mediators' effects further added value to this study.

校企合作“订单式”人才培养模式探索和实践

推进工学结合、校企合作,建构适应社会经济发展的职业教育人才培养模式已经成为当前高等职业教育改革与发展的突出问题。本文以我院开设的"苏宁物流订单班"作为研究个案,深度讨论分析了"订单班"的办学思路及实施方法,以及在实施"订单式"人才培养模式中政府、企业和学校三者的利益关系;最后,对如何完善校企合作、订单培养提出对策和建议。

The Business Cycle and Profitability of Trading Strategies

Recent studies show that investor participation in the stock market rises during economic expansion and drops in economic recession. When investor participation is high, investors’ cognitive and behavioral biases are likely to have a strong influence on stock prices. We consider four trading strategies that are based on well-known market anomalies and examine their profitability under different economic conditions. For all four strategies, the portfolios that are formed in the months when the economy is expanding obtain significant profits, whereas the portfolios formed in economic recession months are not profitable. This finding is robust to different ways of classifying recession months.     

Exploring consumers’ purchase intention towards green products in an emerging market: The role of consumers’ perceived readiness

Consumers’ awareness of green products has increased in the last few years, but studies show that the demand for green products has been stagnant. The purpose of this study is to explore the roles of consumers’ perceived readiness to be green and subsequently, how readiness to be green affects consumers’ purchase intention towards green products in an emerging market, Indonesia. A total of 916 survey responses were collected in three universities, two major shopping malls and several housing areas in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The findings reveal that consumers’ attitude (ATT), subjective norm, perceived behavioural control (PBC), pro‐environmental self‐identity (PEI), ethical obligation and consumers’ readiness to be green are the determinants of intention to purchase green products. Consumers’ readiness to be green mediates the effects of ATT, PBC, PEI and perceived sense of responsibility on purchase intention. The study provides further insights into the discrepancy between professed positive attitudes towards the environment and the slow uptake of green behaviour in an emerging market.     

造船用钢市场2010年展望

2009年,虽然船舶市场而临国际金融危机的冲击,但是在《船舶工业调整和振兴规划》等一系列政策、措施的指导下,我国船舶工业继续保持较快发展的态势。造船完工量再创历史新高,各项经济指标持续快速增长。但与造船市场平稳增长的态势不同,去年．我国造船用钢市场出现了产量大幅下降、价格低位运行的特征。预计2010年和2011年船板用量比2009年将有20％左右的增加。     

公司治理结构对蓝筹股收益率影响研究

本文以沪深300指数中的197家上市公司为样本,对其公司治理结构和收益率的关系进行多元回归分析,分析得出公司董事会规模和独立董事比例分别与收益率呈现U型关系,股权集中度、国有股比例均与收益率负相关。研究结果还表明:公司规模扩大、业绩好是蓝酬股价在牛市中高涨和熊市中抗跌的基本点;大多数蓝酬股收益率不高,其董事会结构并没有暗示股价长期、稳定、高速升值的空间;当股权分散和国有股比例下降,投资者参与度增加引致收益率提高;外资股权也没有得到大众投资者长期追捧,长期收益率与外资股权比例不相关。     

The Effects of Participation and Job-Relevant Information on the Relationship Between Evaluative Style and Job Satisfaction

This study investigates the intervening effects of budgetary participation and job-relevant information on the relationship between budget emphasis and job satisfaction. It proposes that budgetary participation and job-relevant information are endogenous to budget emphasis. Using the path analytical technique and based on a sample of 152 senior managers, the study found that budget emphasis has an insignificant direct effect on job satisfaction, but a strong indirect effect through job-relevant information and budgetary participation. The results also indicate that job-relevant information has an intervening effect on the relationship between participation and job satisfaction.
