CORRUPTION AND POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC REFORMS: A STRUCTURAL BREAKS APPROACH

In this paper we look at the impact of broad policy reforms on the levels of corruption. We use a structural break approach to identify country-specific time periods in which significant shifts in corruption levels take place. We then correlate these times of change with a set of covariates with specific focus on the impact of democratization, and trade and equity market liberalization. We find robust support for the hypothesis that episodes of reduction in corruption levels tend to be correlated with democratization and equity market liberalization.

综合化信号与信息处理平台设计与实现

为解决大规模分布式异构实时处理平台在航空电子模块化综合条件下的体系结构问题,在分析联合标准化航电系统架构特点的基础上,提出一种基于串行RapidIO硬总线和虚通道软总线互连的开放式系统架构,并完成一套基于该架构的综合化信号与信息处理机,实现了真正意义上的芯片级互连、低延时、多节点、可扩展、可重构的航空电子综合化应用平台。

Ontology-based e-assessment for accounting: Outcomes of a pilot study and future prospects

This article reports on a pilot of a novel ontology-based e-assessment system in accounting that draws on the potential of emerging semantic technologies to produce an online assessment environment capable of marking students’ free-text answers to questions of a conceptual nature. It does this by matching their response with a “concept map” or “ontology” of domain knowledge expressed by subject specialists. The system used, OeLe, allows not only for marking, but also for feedback to individual students and teachers about student strengths and weaknesses, as well as to whole cohorts, thus providing both a formative and a summative assessment function. This article reports on the results of a “proof of concept” trial of OeLe, in which the system was implemented and evaluated outside its original development environment (an online course in education being used instead in an undergraduate course in financial accounting. It describes the potential affordances and demands of implementing ontology-based assessment in accounting, together with suggestions of what needs to be done if such approaches are to be more widely implemented.     

煤矿废弃地生态植被恢复技术研究

近年来,大量的矿产资源开采,导致严重的生态破坏、环境污染,并形成了许多矿区废弃地。本文在了解国内外矿区废弃地生态恢复现状的基础上,对生态恢复与重建的方法进行了综述。并结合山西阳泉市煤矿区废弃地相关特点,对生态植被恢复具体技术和方法进行筛选,最终在土壤基质改良和人工造林两方面找到了具体的解决方案,为今后煤矿区废弃地生态植被恢复技术研究提供了借鉴。     

The role of desire in understanding intentions to drink responsibly: an application of the Model of Goal-Directed Behaviour

Abstract

This study models young people’s moderate drinking decision-making using the Model of Goal-Directed Behaviour (MGB), thus presenting insights into young people’s desires and intentions to drink responsibly. Testing the applicability of the MGB to quantitatively analyse responsible drinking, the explanatory sphere of the MGB is extended. An online survey resulted in 1522 completed questionnaires from respondents aged between 18 and 25 years. Collected data were analysed with structural equation modelling (SEM) using SPSS AMOS21 (IBM, New York, NY, USA) software. The key finding of this study is that an individual’s desire to drink moderately is the most important predictor of young people’s responsible drinking intentions. Our use of MGB provides further evidence that there is a strong distinction between consumer desires and intentions.
