Analysis of Investment Returns by Computer

This paper concerns itself with providing the means by which a decision-maker may choose among competing projects and arrive at the optimal allocation of the firm's scarce dollar resources. The problem is handled in the mathematical programming framework. The model holds with or without the assumption of capital rationing and permits the incorporation of the effects of growth and of alternative financial mixes on the cost of capital for the firm. When iterated, the model equates marginal revenue to marginal cost, thus yielding the optimal investment level for the firm. Several investment alternatives not considered in the existing literature on the subject are examined, and some novel interpretations of the constraints and results are offered.

资本市场发展与家庭金融资产结构变迁之间的互动规律无法用简单的因果关系概括,从本质上说,两者是螺旋式前进、相互推动、相互促进的发展规律:家庭部门的决策变化作为需求力量推动了资本市场供给的变化;而资本市场供给本身,又引致了家庭部门多样化的金融资产需求。透过两者螺旋式前进的轨迹,我们提出了对机构投资者整合资本市场供给和家庭部门投资需求的功能解释,并提出了对我国机构投资者发展的政策建议。     

论我国中间阶层及其社会效应

中国上市银行独立董事制度的运行效率

以往的公司治理研究并没有考虑银行业的特殊性,因此对银行的治理问题不能简单地套用以往的研究结论.本文在充分考虑银行业治理的特殊性基础上,通过建立模型实证考察独立董事在银行中的运行效率.研究证实,由于银行股权制衡能力比较强,独立董事的监督职能被弱化,但是银行独立董事由于其专业背景以及广泛的社会关系,能够提高董事会决策效率,促进银行业绩的提升.研究还发现,独立董事的作用是有滞后性的.当期的独立董事能够明显地促进银行下一期的绩效.独立董事制度在国内上市银行中具有效率,能够促进银行的进一步发展.     

Price‐matching policy with imperfect information

The model of price‐matching policy emphasizes on the importance of information imperfection. The demand is derived based on the assumptions that consumers have different reservation prices and different preferences over location. When a firm undercuts its competitor's price, it changes the demand structure of the market. The result shows that price‐matching policies are anticompetitive, but they do not facilitate monopoly price. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
