In order to understand a destination brand, it is essential to define what its identity actually is and the dimensions that it is made up of. Kapferer’s brand-identity prism (Kapferer, J. N. (1992). Strategic brand management: New approaches to creating and evaluating brand equity. New York, NY: The Free Press) is used to respond to these questions in the context of Ibiza, Spain. A qualitative analysis was performed using focus groups, considering tourists who had visited Ibiza in the past. The results indicate that the six dimensions of the Ibiza identity prism are embodied in ?????clubs and discotheques, an exciting personality, an atmosphere of harmony, moments of collective fusion, a clubber image, and the figure of a young, liberal tourist who loves to party. This identity is strong and stable over time, with limited possibilities for a radical repositioning. 相似文献

This study analyzes the impact of risk profile on sustainability reporting and its quality in European banks. Financial institutions (FI) play a social role in the financial inclusion process and incorporate environmental considerations into credit risk assessment, making corporate social responsibility (CSR)-related issues vital for risk management systems. FI with lower capital risk, higher liquidity risk, higher profitability in banking, and higher sensitivity to market risk tend to issue CSR reports. The findings suggest that FI with lower profitability in banking disclose higher quality CSR financial services sector (FSS)-specific information, whereas FI not submitting CSR reports for external assurance or having their CSR reports assured by certain auditors issue lower quality CSR/FSS-specific information. 相似文献

This research simultaneously examines the influence of organizational design variables (specialization, decentralization, formalization, link mechanisms, and informal social relations) on environmental proactivity, and the impact of this environmental proactivity on the competitiveness of hotels. The joint analysis of causes and consequences of environmental proactivity, and the relationship between organizational design and environmental management are topics that have rarely been explored in the literature. Using structural equation modeling methodology, a model is empirically tested using a survey instrument that was distributed to hotels in Spain. The findings indicate that specialization, formalization, link mechanisms, and informal social relations are effective coordination mechanisms to foster environmental proactivity. Moreover, the most effective way of encouraging the implementation of environmental practices is formalization. The findings also show that environmental proactivity contributes to improving competitive advantage in terms of both cost and differentiation. 相似文献

Reserves and sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) assets should be jointly considered for the assessment of global imbalances, hence their denomination as sovereign external assets (SEAs): both are public capital outflows from developing to developed countries, both hinder adjustment in current account surplus and deficit countries and, therefore, both contribute to sustain global imbalances. They represented 135 per cent and 50 per cent of net and gross US financing needs, respectively, in 2007. Reserves contribute 80 per cent and SWFs 20 per cent. They will go on providing resilience to the global imbalances, and the relative importance of SWFs is set to increase if commodity prices stay high. 相似文献

This paper is aimed at exploring the existence of typical patterns of automobile model life and the formal test for age effects
in a discrete-choice demand framework estimated with data on the models sold in the Spanish market. Estimates show that the
evolution of market shares entails and quantifies age effects resulting from consumer demand. These effects are clearly distinguishable
from the impacts generated by changes in attributes and firm pricing. They carry an exogenous factor that is full of implications
for firm behaviour over the life of a model: the modification of demand price sensitivities. As a result, for example, equilibrium
own-price elasticities are observed to decrease until the fourth year of a model life, and then to increase again.

In Mexico, the low participation of insurance activity in national production, in contrast to similar Latin American economies, is a concern. Industry’s regulator promoted more intense competition at the dawn of the century. Was deregulation followed by improvements in the financial and economic performance of Mexican insurance firms? The purpose of this paper is to answer this question through a comprehensive analysis of cost variations in an intertemporal manner, by breaking them down into the economic sources that produce them, including productivity. Cost frontier estimation was grounded in a joint production technology of desirable and undesirable outputs, modeled in an input-oriented fashion. Our results demonstrate that even though some companies achieved cost reductions from technological progress or improvements in efficiency, the Mexican insurance market does not show signs of significant productivity gains. 相似文献

Bias research began at the end of the 1960s anddeveloped rapidly in the following decades for obvioussocial and political reasons, and due to the importantimpact that this issue has on the field ofpsychological and educational measurement. Since then,several methods have been proposed for the study anddetection of item bias or differential itemfunctioning (DIF). This paper presents a simulationstudy comparing the potential of some of these methodsfor detecting DIF: two IRT-based techniques (area measures), three 2-based procedures (MantelHaenszel, Logit Model and Logistic Regression) and theRestricted Factor Analysis method. The results showthat the technique that appears to do the best job isthe Mantel Haenszel statistic. Moreover, all detectiontechniques tend to overidentify DIF items, that is,some of the items labeled with DIF may in fact bewithout DIF. We consider a two-country, two-sector OLG model. It is shown that the trade balance and the relative price of exports are
always positively related when exports are labor intensive regardless of the elasticity of intertemporal substitution in consumption.
A large response of savings to future prices becomes a sufficient condition for an inverse relation between these variables
only if exports are capital intensive. In this case, a rise in the terms of trade can be followed by a trade balance decline

Managers’ commitment to contribute to sustainable development holds the key to their long-term business success and may be
a source of competitive advantage. The managerial perception of business ethics is influenced by the level of moral development
and personal characteristics of managers. These perceptions are also shaped by forces existing in the environment of the firm,
including available resources, societal expectations, sector, and regulations. The resource-based perspective can thus contribute
to the analysis of ethical issues offering important insights on how they can influence the environmental strategy of the
firm. The findings of this study show that firm resources have a strong influence on business managers’ ethical attitudes.
In addition, the application of resource-based rationales to ethical issues can be justified in the following several ways:
it influences a managerial perception of natural environment as a competitive opportunity, it requires investments of financial
and human resources, flexibility and speed in the adaptation to environmental changes, and it creates new resource-based opportunities
