随心结缘派的酥油花塑制品 郭沫若先生生前在北京曾闻听藏族学者更登曲培提及在青藏高原上有一种油塑艺术，说它的塑制品精美绝伦、奇艳无比，名曰——酥油花，观之能疗疾、食之能益寿！     

The determinants of bilateral trade

Abstract.  In this paper we present a monopolistic competition model that incorporates asymmetric trade barriers and international differences in production costs. The model implies a highly non‐linear bilateral trade equation. Estimation of this equation yields parameters for the elasticity of substitution and trade costs that are more reasonable than those found in previous studies. A simulation indicates that trade liberalization will shift trade from rich countries to poor countries and from within continental trading partners with preferential trade agreements to intercontinental trading partners. 在现实生活中,城市不同等级商业中心地的形成与发展主观上似乎遵循着某种规律,而客观上又呈现出无规则分布的特征.在城市不同等级商业中心地形成与发展过程中,有两个关键性因素,即交易成本和徒劳交易系数.这两个因素的变化情况,影响和制约了城市不同等级商业中心地的形成和发展.因此,在城市商业中心地的建设以及促进城市交易的活动过程中,节省交易成本支出、降低徒劳交易系数的制度安排、经营环境和信息流通空间就是非常重要的.

Can Chinese Discuss Conflicts Openly? Field and Experimental Studies of Face Dynamics in China

Chinese people have been theorized to be particularly sensitive to social face and avoid direct discussion in conflict to promote interpersonal harmony. Social face has been used to explain the proclivity of East Asians to smooth over conflict. More research is needed to study social face empirically and its relationship with direct discussion and the processes by which social face has its impact. Results from a field interview study and an experiment conducted in China support theorizing that confirmation of face induces cooperative goals and open-mindedness. In contrast with common assumptions about Chinese organizations, direct discussion, compared to avoiding, strengthened relationships. Direct controversy, especially when face was confirmed, induced open-mindedness: Participants asked more questions, explored the opposing views, demonstrated more knowledge of the opposing arguments, and worked to integrate views. These results were interpreted as suggesting that Chinese people can discuss their conflicts directly and cooperatively when they are assured that their face is confirmed. Results have implications both for the general theory of cooperation and competition as well as our understanding of social face in China.     

Uncovering the Risk–Return Relation in the Stock Market

There is ongoing debate about the apparent weak or negative relation between risk (conditional variance) and expected returns in the aggregate stock market. We develop and estimate an empirical model based on the intertemporal capital asset pricing model (ICAPM) that separately identifies the two components of expected returns, namely, the risk component and the component due to the desire to hedge changes in investment opportunities. The estimated coefficient of relative risk aversion is positive, statistically significant, and reasonable in magnitude. However, expected returns are driven primarily by the hedge component. The omission of this component is partly responsible for the existing contradictory results.
