Allocating chances of success in finite and infinite societies: The utilitarian criterion

We study a particular collective choice problem, that of allocating chances of success. We argue that many problems of interest have this nature, from small scale problems like medical triage to large scale ones like the allocation of opportunities in society. We consider both finite and infinite societies. We characterise utilitarian-type criteria by means of new properties tailored to the probabilistic structure of the alternatives.

On the afternoon of July 3,CCPIT Vice Chairman Dong Songgen met with Mr.Gutierrez,the visiting Peruvian Vice Foreign Minister,both of whom attended the Seminar on Economic and Trade Opportunities in Peru.The seminar was organized by CCPIT and Peruvian Embassy in China,Peru- vian Vice Foreign Minister has briefed on macro economy as well as trade policies and investment opportunities in Peru.     

新疆向西开放：变迁、挑战

当前,中国向西开放的总体战略布局已经形成,新疆作为向西开放的桥头堡和排头兵,必将肩负着更加重要的任务.本文在论述了向西开放战略变迁的基础上,对新疆在向西开放战略中所处的机遇和挑战进行了分析,认为新疆正处于向西开放和西部大开发两大战略的历史交汇处,同时又面临着周边形势复杂、金融危机冲击、中亚国家区域整合等方面的挑战.为此,新疆应面对挑战,抓住两大战略历史交汇的重要机遇期,明确自身在向西开放战略中的定位,依托自身独特而优越的区位优势和资源优势积极开拓国内外两个市场,构建全方位、多层次、宽领域的开放格局,将向西开放的主要着力点集中在口岸建设、基础设施、商贸物流等方面,尤其要发挥喀什、霍尔果斯两个特殊经济开发区的作用.     

过程视角的创业能力形成研究综述

创业能力有助于创业者开发创业机会、赢得创业成功,然而,目前的相关研究广泛而零散,缺乏综合性和系统性。在系统回顾现有文献的基础上,首先基于创业过程的活动特征与规律,同时考虑创业者特质,界定了创业能力的概念、特点和构成;然后,从创业能力形成的影响因素、可能产生的结果效应、发挥作用的情景因素等方面,总结和评述了创业能力研究进展;最后,展望了未来研究方向。     

Entrepreneurial alertness in the pursuit of new opportunities

The recognition and development of new opportunities are at the heart of entrepreneurship. Building from Kirzner's (1973, 1999) work, cognition theory, and McMullen and Shepherd's (2006) recent development, we offer a model involving three distinct elements of alertness: scanning and search, association and connection, and evaluation and judgment. We then conduct multiple studies to develop and validate a 13-item alertness scale that captures these three dimensions. Results demonstrate appropriate dimensionality, strong reliability, and content, convergent, discriminant, and nomological validity. The resultant instrument provides researchers with a valuable tool for probing the entrepreneurial opportunity development process including antecedents and outcomes.     

Opportunities and challenges for academic returnees in China

A growing number of Western-educated management PhD graduates are starting their academic career in Chinese business schools. While opportunities are abundant for these returnees, they also face the choice between developing internationally transferable assets and building locally embedded competences. Some possible solutions are discussed, at both personal and institutional levels.

Creating opportunities for institutional entrepreneurship: The Colonel and the Cup in English County Cricket

This paper examines how actors within a mature cultural field use their field positions to create opportunities for institutional entrepreneurship. Our analysis of the product innovation of a Knock-Out Cup in English County Cricket between the 1930s and 1960s shows that when the economic viability of a mature cultural field is threatened, actors learn to recursively create market and political opportunities for institutional entrepreneurship by deploying the resources of their field positions in tactics targeted at shifting product category boundaries. We find that ‘lone hero’ institutional entrepreneurs who experience failure from working in relative isolation learn to acquire new resources and deploy them in new tactics leading to a more collective approach, which is necessary for disrupting the institutional gatekeeping work that maintains a mature cultural field.     

金融危机时期是产业创新的战略机遇期

在总结产业创新理论的基础上,本文作出理论假设,提出经济增长和产业创新具有反方向周期运动的规律,金融危机时期是产业创新的高活跃期,并从历史上金融危机和产业创新之间的关系进行了实证研究,从金融危机对观念创新、技术创新、市场创新和管理创新等产业创新要素的推动作用,在理论上论证了金融危机时期是产业创新的高活跃期。最后,研究了在新一轮金融危机背景下我国产业创新的优势和壁垒,提出了抓住战略机遇,推动产业创新的对策。     

西部地区工业化面临的问题和机遇

加快西部工业化进程有利于转移西部农村过剩劳动力,也是实现西部大开发战略所要取得实效的一条重要途径。在西部地区就地实现工业化可以减少由于劳动力大跨度转移所造成的各种矛盾,有利于西部乃至中部农村剩余劳动力甚至各种高学历层次人才在西部的集聚,对劳动者自身和西部区域经济发展,区域经济社会和谐,区域人口素质提高,进而对西部区域整体的发展都有促进作用。但目前西部地区工业化面临很多问题：结构性过剩,利用外资不足,城乡差距拉大和国际国内环境变化,但也有历史机遇,印存在问题的解决就使得我们有了抓住机遇的机会,最终提出解决问题的办法。     

北部湾经济发展给广西高职教育带来的机遇与挑战

北部湾经济的发展，将带动广西经济的大发展，同样给广西高等职业教育带来了良好的发展机遇，但也面临着困难和挑战。积极采取应对措施，是广西高等职业教育义不容辞的责任。
