创新环境因素对区域创新效率影响的空间计量研究

影响区域创新产出的因素可以分为直接要素投入和外部创新环境两个方面,二者均对提高区域创新效率具有重要作用。以２００６—２０１１年中国３１个省（市、自治区）的经济数据为基础,运用ＭｏｒａｎＩ指数进行空间自相关性检验,并建立直接要素投入和区域创新外部环境因素与专利产出的实证模型,通过ＯＬＳ和空间计量两种回归方法进行实证分析与比较。研究结果显示：中国不同区域创新产出存在发展不平衡现象,区域创新行为具有空间集中分布的特点,并且区域创新集群的现象比较明显;创新环境外部因素对区域创新效率具有显著的正向影响,但单纯增加人口数量并不能显著提高区域创新能力;创新环境诸因素中,金融机构存贷款总额、高校毕业人数和市场化率对区域创新效率的影响最为显著。     

基于齐套零件策略的人为失误及其质量问题分析

针对混流装配线不能实现高质量零部件供应的问题,提出在齐套零件策略下,以提高零部件配送质量为目的,分析和总结了套件准备和交付过程中出现的人为失误,建立模型对装配系统的质量成本进行经济评估,并针对性的提出各项管理建议,帮助企业管理者在实施齐套零件策略时探索可行的方案,并做出具有成本效益的决策。     

Voluntary Adopters of Integrated Reporting – Evidence on Forecast Accuracy and Firm Value

This study investigates how integrated reporting (IR) creates value for investors. It examines how providers of financial capital benefit from an improved firm information environment provided by IR. Specifically, this study investigates the effect of voluntary IR disclosure on analyst earnings forecast accuracy as well as on firm value. To do so, we use an international sample of 167 listed companies that voluntarily publish an integrated report. Our analysis shows no significant effect of a voluntary IR publication on analyst earnings forecast accuracy and no significant effect on firm value. We thus do not find evidence for the fulfillment of IR's promises regarding improved information environment and value creation of voluntary adopters. We conclude that such companies might already have a relatively high level of transparency leading to an absent additional effect of IR disclosure. Positive effects of IR appear to be more relevant in environments where IR is mandatory.     

Contagion effects in ASEAN-5 exchange rates during the Covid-19 pandemic

The aim of this study is to examine the pure and fundamentals-based contagion effects in ASEAN-5 exchange rates during Covid-19 period using daily exchange rates from June 2019 to December 2020. We adopt VECM within the structural VAR framework and higher time–frequency wavelet analysis. The VECM findings show that ASEAN-5 exchange rates are cointegrated during this pandemic and should there be any disequilibrium, daily rate of adjustments in the Indonesian rupiah, Malaysian ringgit and Singapore dollar are 6.58%, 1.47% and 2.45% respectively. The wavelet power spectrum implies that Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore experience prolonged high degree of exchange rates volatility, Thailand experiences mild volatility in the short run and high volatility in the long run and only Philippines experiences mild volatility in the short run and no heightened long run volatility. The wavelet coherence shows Indonesian rupiah reacts first to the Covid-19 shock leading to fundamentals- based contagion to Malaysia and Thailand, and temporary pure contagion based on sentimental to Philippines and Singapore. Only the Philippine peso that insulates itself from the long run shocks. These findings are important as it gives insights into the nature of contagion among ASEAN-5 exchange rates due to global shock of Covid-19 and the need for timely intervention to prevent the short run contagion turning into the long run.     

Firm and regional economic outcomes associated with a new,broad measure of business innovation

ABSTRACT

Most innovation-oriented studies use measures such as patent activity or research expenditures, likely ignoring the role of more home-grown upgrades or opportunity-recognizing activity common in businesses across the U.S. This study develops a broader ‘innovation index’ using a new survey of businesses that provides a wide lens for capturing innovative practices. The index is used in a series of regressions testing the relationship between innovation and both firm and regional-level economic outcomes. Results from the firm-level regressions show that the innovation index has a positive and significant relationship with wages paid to employees and product market growth. The regional analysis demonstrates that innovation is correlated with several regional economic variables, including median household income, and that spatial spillovers from innovation exist in some instances.     

Performance assessment and improvement of control charts for statistical batch process monitoring

This paper describes the concepts of statistical batch process monitoring and the associated problems. It starts with an introduction to process monitoring in general which is then extended to batch process monitoring. The performance of control charts for batch process monitoring is discussed by means of two performance indices: the overall type I error and the action signal time. Problems associated with the existing approach are discussed and highlighted. Improvements are suggested and checked with the performance indices. To evaluate the effect of the proposed improvements as well as to assess the performance of the existing approach, an industrial batch production process is used.
