Demand for animal‐derived food in selected Asian countries: A system‐wide analysis

Food consumption patterns in Asia show a trend away from staples toward high protein food derived from animal and dairy products, fruit and vegetables, fats and oils. Such changes in food consumption patterns are due to rising incomes, urbanization, globalization, and modernization of marketing infrastructure. In this article, we analyze the demand for the animal‐derived food group comprising meat (chicken, beef, pork, and mutton), eggs and fish, and derive income and price elasticities in seven Asian countries using the system‐wide approach. Demand homogeneity and Slutsky symmetry properties were tested and found to be compatible with the data. Our findings reveal that animal‐derived food as a group is a necessity (except in Taiwan) and its demand is price inelastic (except in Taiwan and Sri Lanka). The implied unconditional demand elasticities reveal that, in all countries (except beef in Japan and Taiwan), chicken, beef, pork, mutton, eggs and fish (except in Taiwan) are all necessities and the demand for all types of animal‐derived food in all seven countries are mostly price inelastic. The cross‐price elasticity estimates are mostly found to be positive, meaning that there is a higher degree of substitutability between chicken, beef, pork, mutton, eggs, and fish.

文章概述了国内外外语学习策略理论,理清外语学习策略内涵及其分类。笔者通过对高职非英语专业学生外语学习策略运用能力的现状进行调查分析,发现存在的困难与问题,探讨公共英语学习策略培养途径,以期帮助学生正确运用语言学习策略,增强英语自主学习能力,提高学习效率。

企业估值中价值乘数的选择：基于行业差异性的研究

基于行业差异性理论分析不同行业在经济结构、经济周期、要素集约度、资本结构等方面的差异,目的在于论证行业的差异性是否会导致价值乘数的非对称性。探求不同价值乘数的行业适用性,以形成不同行业与价值乘数之间的双向匹配关系。根据要素集约度选取采掘业、建筑业、交通运输业以及信息技术业作为研究对象,在实证研究的基础上,确定价值乘数选择条件及优先等级,进而确定行业乘数。     

股权分置改革中内幕交易和市场操纵行为研究

通过运用事件研究方法,对样本股权分置改革前后的累积超常收益率（CAR）、超常换手率（AAT）的变化趋势进行比较研究。研究发现,在股权分置改革中存在较为严重的信息泄漏从而导致内幕交易和市场操纵的行为。这种行为严重损害了证券市场的“三公”原则,削弱了资本市场效率。因此,必须强化信息披露与监管,促进股权分置改革的顺利完成。     

Vital capabilities: a development framework for sexual and gender minorities

ABSTRACT

Recent empirical research has revealed that sexual and gender minorities (SGMs) in all parts of the world face discrimination and disparities in important dimensions of development such as employment, income, education, violence and health. Yet, global human development policy largely overlooks SGMs. This paper seeks to advance the inclusion of SGMs in development discussions by formulating a capabilities approach applicable to SGMs. The paper first proposes a definitional scheme to identify precisely the population at stake, it then reviews psychological frameworks used to understand how sexuality and gender develop in ways that are positive and healthy, as well frameworks used to understand how law and culture restrict the choices and opportunities available to SGMs. Three themes emerge from each of these discussions, each of which underpin a capability vital to freedoms and positive development for SGMs: the capability to form one’s own identity, to engage in expression and expressive activity and to form and participate in relationships.     

The future of foresight—A US perspective

The growing interest in business, government, and other organizations and users of futures research in the next ten to thirty years implies that the interest is largely to promote better strategic thinking and planning. Popular in the current futures lexicon is ‘strategic foresight’. This article characterizes, as best the author can, the key characteristics of strategic foresight, under whatever name it occurs, by American futurists. The most central characteristic of American futurists and their approach as practiced around the world is eclectic flexibility in methods and techniques. The American approach is illustrated by the author's own decades of work for organizational clients.     

论增强研究生思想政治教育实效性的有效途径

随着我国研究生教育规模的迅速扩大和研究生培养环境的变化,传统研究生思想政治教育因缺少针对性和创新性,出现了严重的不适应,受到了严峻的挑战。根据新时期研究生思想政治教育的特点和内容,可以从引导研究生做到知、情、行统一,强化理想信念教育,把思想教育与专业教育有效结合,努力解决研究生的实际问题,努力提高研究生的综合素质,主动占领研究生网络思想政治教育阵地等六个方面来增强研究生思想政治教育的实效性。
