Characterization of additive cost sharing methods

The set of additive cost sharing methods when individual demands are integer valued and cost shares are non negative is characterized by its extreme points and by a network flow representation. The extreme methods allocate costs incrementally along a chain of demand vectors independent of the cost function. The result generalizes Wang’s characterization in that we do not assume the Dummy axiom.

Contemporary knowledge and skill requirements in project management

This article provides an overview of some recent developments within the field of project management and presents metrics used to assess current trends within the discipline in order to identify its future direction. Graphical tools are introduced to measure the span and areas of emphasis within project management, such as radar diagrams and the recently introduced International Project Management Association (IPMA) “Eye of Competence.” The research shows that the discipline seems to focus increasingly on interpersonal competences, relationship management, resource management, and strategic alignment. The results are evaluated and discussed, and the article concludes with some ideas about the future development of project management.

目前对品牌竞争力的认识及测量均存在较大的差异，产生差异的根本原因在于，没有将生成品牌竞争力的解释性变量和表现品牌竞争力的显示性变量区分开来。从消费者认知出发进行定性研究，可将生成品牌竞争力的解释性变量归纳为：品牌归属、品牌产品、品牌识别、品牌喻义、品牌人性化五个层面。     

Spatial structure and network behaviour of strategic airline groups: A comparison between Europe and the United States

The Gini-index has gained in legitimacy when measuring traffic distributions of air traffic as compared to other more established measures, such as Herfindahl's. In order to render the index more meaningful for policy-makers, a partial decomposition into strategic groups of airlines along distinct geopolitical scopes of air traffic is suggested. Air traffic across airports is considered an aggregate of complex networks that are subject to multiple constraints, such as geopolitics or technology. A multi-layered analytic approach accounts for network operators as economic agents that behave in strategic ways within these constraints. Our approach allows for comparing traffic distributions in Europe with that of the US and, in particular, introduces a normative component by isolating patterns in airlines’ strategies that are likely to induce different degrees of spatial concentration and balanced traffic distributions within these common markets.     

Defining and developing competence: A strategic process paradigm

In this paper, competence is defined in operational terms as the degree to which the firm or its subunits can reliably meet or exceed objectives. Two antecedents to competence (and thus competitive advantage) are then developed and defined. These are the ‘comprehension’ of the management team working on developing competence and the ‘deftness’ of their task execution. Empirical results from a study of 160 new initiatives in 40 organizations from 16 countries suggest that: (1) it is feasible to operationalize and measure these constructs; (2) comprehension and deftness are important correlates of an organization's degree of competence as defined; and (3) a process-centered paradigm for understanding competence development shows promise.

通过分析铁路的现行体制、自身资源与能力等因素对其在进入现代物流时的限制,指出铁路应当通过组建物流联盟,实现在价值链上的互补合作,使铁路能够集中有限的资源,在价值链的关键环节上建立核心竞争力。
