Drug testing and the law

This article examines judicial and administrative rulings and legislation involving or related to the issue of drug testing in the workplace. It discusses the rights of employees in the public and private sector: constitutional rights; federal, state, and local statutory rights; rights of unionized employees; and common law rights. It analyzes both the current state of the law and future directions the law may take, as courts and administrative agencies decide more cases and governmental bodies continue to pass drug testing legislation.     

军用集装箱三维装载的优化方法

以军用集装箱装载为研究对象，在考虑实际应用中的一些约束条件下，构造了军用集装箱的装载优化模型，提出了一种军用集装箱三维装载的启发式算法。该算法采用了整体装填、空间合并等策略，考虑了装载方向、优先顺序、重心等约束条件。最后对一个案例进行了计算与分析，验证了该模型的有效性，并且利用3ds max得到了装载方案的三维图。     

The Bell Curve in Psychological Research and Practice: Myth or Reality?

The expression “the bell curve” designs both a kind of statistical distribution and the title of a famous and controversial book by Herrnstein and Murray. The first is so attractive that the second refers to it to give more credibility to its questionable theories on intelligence. The point is that, during the 20th century, the bell curve has assumed a more and more important role in psychological research and practice and have become both a reality and a myth. In the first case (reality) we can assist to appropriate applications of a real useful statistical concept. In the second (myth) we can have two kinds of attitudes: one attitude is typical of those researchers who search for normality in all their data and variables, just as Parsifal used to search for the Holy Graal (we call this “the Parsifal attitude”); the other is typical of those researchers who give normality for granted and act as if it were a Platonic Idea (we call this “the Plato attitude”). The article discusses the role of the normal distribution in psychological research and practice and shows how it can be dangerous to treat the bell curve as a God or an Idol.     

探究“新零销售”模式下影响销售量的相关因素

在新零销售模式的推动下,客户越来越倾向于消费个性化的商品。为了精准预测客户的消费需求,论文以单款单色产品为研究对象,通过建立多元回归分析的数学模型,来探究影响商品销售量的相关因素。经过分析发现,除了一些定性因素外,定量因素对销售量也产生了一定的影响,其中实际花费总金额、实际销售单价、库存数等定量因素对销售量的影响较大,且各个变量之间具有相关性,所以电商平台应特别关注这三个变量的影响。     

高线精轧机在线监测系统研究

湘潭钢铁集团第二高线厂的高线生产是公司生产的重要环节,保证高线设备的稳定运行对于整个高线生产有着重要意义。高线设备采用在线状态监测系统对机械设备运行状态进行实时振动监测和故障分析,从而可以获得机械设备的实时运行状态数据,对设备运行状况及发展趋势做出科学评价,并对一些重要参数实现超限报警。     

芯钢管混凝土节点的芯管壁厚与节点承载力关系的数值分析

对一种已经通过试验研究的钢管混凝土结构的新型节点进行数值分析。这种节点将钢管混凝土柱的钢管在节点区间断,在节点区设置芯钢管,使梁中的纵筋在节点中直通、梁与节点区混凝土成为一体可靠的传递梁中的弯矩、剪力及轴力。本文利用数值分析弥补模型试验数量少的缺陷。选择不同芯钢管壁厚的节点模型进行非线性有限元分析,得出芯钢管壁厚对节点承载力的影响规律。分析结果表明芯钢管壁厚是影响节点承载力的主要因素之一。     

Multiple aspect testing for case-control designs

When testing for the equality of two distributions in a case-control design with treatment effects presumed to act possibly on more than one aspect, different tests may be properly considered for testing for different features of a null hypothesis, leading to the multiple aspect testing issue. Two different aspects are therefore of interest: the location-aspect, based on the comparison of location indexes, and the distributional-aspect, based on the comparison of the empirical distribution functions. A simulation study shows that the combined testing procedure exhibits a good robust overall performance, and an application in biomedical research is also presented.

Tax Effects in a Model of Product Differentiation: A Note

We investigate how unit (or specific) tax and ad valorem tax affect equilibrium location choice in a model of product differentiation, which includes Hotelling (linear-city) and Vickrey-Salop (circular-city) spatial models as special cases. We find that neither tax affects equilibrium location patterns as long as each firm has the same production cost. Two taxes can yield different location patterns under cost heterogeneity among firms.     

大力推进新形势下的需求侧管理工作

在当前电力供需日趋紧张的形势下,电力企业为了保证电网的安全稳定运行,实现其向社会可靠供电的承诺,必须在政府的政策支持和引导下加快电源和电网建设的同时充分挖掘需求侧潜力,大力推进需求侧管理在中国的实践.笔者根据多年工作经验总结出在开展需求侧管理工作的过程中应注意的几个问题.
