Training and Performance of a Diverse Workforce

The moderating role of work contracts on the relationship between human resource management (HRM) and the self‐reported performance of 1,311 permanent and 924 temporary employees across three sectors was studied using a multilevel design in 103 organizations in three European countries. The HR practice examined was training and its allocation to the different workforce groups. The relationship between training for permanent employees and performance was moderated by work contract as well as country. In the Spanish sample, the performance of temporary employees was more negatively related to training for permanent employees as compared to the Dutch and the Swedish sample. Unexpectedly, in the Dutch sample, training provision was negatively related to the workforce group it was provided for. It is the temporary employees that seemed to be the cause of the interactions, underlining the call for special treatment of this workforce. Results indicate a considerable role of the interplay of job dependence and labor market conditions. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

在武汉天兴洲大桥铁路江北引桥滠口左线引桥1#桥施工中,为满足施工现场混凝土运输的需要．采取以下措施：8-9#墩处上游附近搭设施工便桥1座;便桥桥面板采用2500×1000×200mm钢筋混凝土槽型板;纵向主梁采用8片H600×200mm型钢横向排列,且每两片一组用1cm厚铜板进行抱箍：每墩采用2片36a工字钢做横抬梁;便桥基础采用铜管排桩基础。经对纵梁、横抬梁、桥面板及基础铜管桩受力进行分析．检算合格,经实践证明以上措施及方案安全可行。

展览会已成为展示区域综合竞争力,吸引国外投资的重要平台。通过搜集中国国际工业博览会1999～2011年的资料,在借鉴传统产业集群演化过程的基础上,将以中国国际工业博览会为例的政府驱动型展览会划分为孕育期、成长期、成熟期、衰退期四个主要阶段。中国国际工业博览会正处在成长期向成熟期演变的重要阶段,进入衰退期的展览会并不是这一空间集聚的终结,而是其所属行业转型升级的一种表现。展览会由初期短暂存在的促进物品交易性平台,逐渐兼顾了链接不同集群间信息流动的重要媒介。     

神府高速公路桥梁临时支座设置研究

公路桥梁施工中,经常遇到先简支,后连续这样的体系转换问题,这就涉及到简支阶段的临时支座设计、使用以及拆除。本文通过实例对临时支座控制预留沉降量、临时支座与垫石的位置关系、支座各部位受力安全、永久支座和临时支座处于同一高程、泄砂孔的螺母螺栓匹配等因素进行了研究,提出了该过程的相关技术控制思路和方法,为对同类工程提供借鉴。

The Temporary Leave Dilemma: Lone and Partnered Mothers in Sweden

Abstract

Lone mothers have to take care of a sick child with little or no help from the child's other parent and have to carry all costs connected to leave-taking. This paper empirically tests whether lone mothers take more temporary parental leave to care for sick children than partnered mothers and whether parental leave is associated with a signaling cost. The results from this study of Swedish mothers show that lone mothers use more temporary parental leave than partnered mothers. Further, within the group of lone mothers, those with higher socioeconomic status take less temporary parental leave than those with lower socioeconomic status, whereas no such differences are found within the group of partnered mothers. One possible interpretation is that signaling costs negatively influence the utilization of temporary parental leave for lone mothers.
