Organizing the Lillehammer Olympic Winter games

This article addresses some aspects of project management theory on a basis of an in-depth longitudinal case study of the Lillehammer Olympics Organizing Committee (LOOC) before and during the XVII Olympic Winter Games in 1994. Particular emphasis is put on the implications of two characteristics of this project: the fact that it was not embedded in any parent organization, and that its task was imbued with uncertainty. As a result, emergent tasks, emergent structure and informal authority appear to have been critical features. Because of the non-embedded nature of the Olympic Winter Games project the case has also illustrated the value of viewing projects like this one as temporary organizations rather than as projects initiated by a parent organization.

宏观经济学其实"很窄",它不"是大的"、"无所不包的"经济学,而只是从一个特定角度对经济的研究。宏观经济学"是短期经济学",其着眼点是经济的短期波动而不是长期增长。宏观经济学"是治标经济学",它没有解"决深层次矛盾"和提"供治本之策"的任务,不能期望宏观经济学家去解决体制改革和结构调整这类长期性的根本问题。     

External workers’ perception of leadership behaviour – a study of Swedish temporary agency workers and contractors

The increasing prevalence of externalised work arrangements in industrialised countries has brought with it ever greater managerial complexity in the workplace. This article explores how leadership behaviour is perceived by internal and external workers within a public authority in Sweden. Questionnaire data from 505 temporary agency workers (TAWs), contractors and internal employees have been analysed. Multinomial logistic regression analyses indicate that external workers such as TAWs and contractors are more likely than internal employees to notice leadership profiles, including pronounced, task‐oriented leadership behaviour. These results hold true when controlled for demographic and socio‐economic variables and organisational tenure. A practical implication is that explicit attention should be paid to the need for leadership training in developing HRM strategies with regard to external employees.     

The impact of Greek labour market regulation on temporary employment – evidence from a survey in Thessaly,Greece

This paper uses an original data-set for 186 workplaces in Thessaly (central Greece), to study consequences of Greece's strict employment protection law (EPL) and national minimum wage for temporary employment. We find higher temporary work contract rates among workplaces that pay low wages close to the minimum. We also find that EPL ‘matters’, in particular, managers who prefer temporary contracts because temporary workers are less protected definitely employ more. Our findings thus support the view that a firm's HRM decisions regarding internal versus external allocation of tasks are influenced by labour regulation.     

A Bibliometric View on the Use of Contingency Theory in Project Management Research

Contingency theory has influenced organization theory since the 1950s. Project management research has only recently started to consider context factors. In this area, applications of contingency theory still represent a fragmented field with a nonuniform use of terminology. Fully utilizing the contingency theory approach requires a systematic foundation. This article presents an overview of contingency theory in both permanent and temporary organizations. In a bibliometric study based on 1,622 articles from four academic project management journals, we identify dominating authors, prevalent keywords, and different focal areas in project contingency theory as well as the most researched project types.

本文通过分析某黄河大桥介绍,及预算文件的情况介绍,分析预算审核的原则、及预算审核中发现的问题,重点分析了临时设施对的计算和相关定额的选用,达到和大家沟通交流的目的。为便于理解现行定额,本文在审核计算时采用现行定额进行计算。

自2007年1月开始,新的会计准则率先在上市公司中实施,这将对企业及广大会计人员产生重大影响。本文从新准则的主要特点出发,分析了新旧准则的主要不同点,并对新会计准则下所得税会计的处理方法做了简单介绍,最后通过简单实例介绍了新准则的实际运用。     

劳务派遣:农民工就业的新模式

当前,我国农民工就业中存在的突出问题是,就业难与维权难并存。如何实现农民工顺利就业以及如何确保农民工就业后的合法权益,是我们面临的一大难题。劳务派遣这种新兴的就业模式,对于增加农民工就业的数量,提高农民工就业的质量,是一种有益的探索。为了推动劳务派遣规范发展,促进农民工的就业与维权,必须发挥政府、法律和集体谈判的共同作用。     

The Economics of a Reduction in VAT*

We explore the effects of a temporary cut in VAT, identifying three possible effects: an income effect as people benefit from a lower cost of living during the period of the reduction, a substitution effect as people bring their consumption forward and an arbitrage effect as people buy non‐perishable goods before the end of the period of low VAT for consumption after the VAT rate has been raised. International evidence suggests a clear overall impact on consumption, although the nature of the pattern depends on the way in which the data are analysed. However, the key policy issue is the impact of the VAT change on output and, to examine that, a simulation model of the whole economy is needed. Evidence from the National Institute's Global Economic Model suggests that the impact of the recent VAT reduction is likely to build up during the course of 2009. The reduction in VAT from 17½ per cent to 15 per cent is likely to result in consumption being augmented by less than 1 per cent by the fourth quarter of 2009. However, GDP is likely to be raised by less than half a per cent relative to what would have happened without the VAT increase. After the temporary reduction is over, both consumption and GDP are depressed as a result of the policy.
