Best practice interventions: Short-term impact and long-term outcomes

This paper uses empirical field research to examine whether short-term best practice interventions (BPIs) can lead to improvements that are sustained in the long term. In addition, this research investigates the implied conflict between striving for short-term results and achieving long-term development of capabilities. It also examines the tension between the lack of resources of the typical small and medium sized enterprise (SME) users of BPIs and the time required to develop a critical mass of capability. A longitudinal case-based study of eight SME contexts examined BPI outcomes and factors leading to short- and long-term success and sustaining best practices. The research identifies factors related to the intervention context, implementation and change-agent approach. The data indicate that in resource-limited SMEs BPIs are limited in their ability to develop adequate capability for long-term change.     

试论《实践论》对高校研究生学习实践活动的现实指导意义

《实践论》是毛泽东同志关于马克思主义实践观基本原理的经典著作,对人类认识与实践活动关系的问题有全面、完善的阐述。高校研究生学习活动也是一种学习的实践,《实践论》中的基本观点可用以指导这一学习实践活动。本文从马克思主义的基本认识论原理入手,阐述了这种学习指导的必要性、现实性,进而分析文章观点,提出文章中具体观点对高校研究生学习实践的现实指导意义。     

基于工作过程的“仓储管理实务”课程开发研究

通过对物流管理专业"仓储管理实务"课程问卷调查,论述了课程改革的必要性,分析了课程改革的基本思路,从课程的内容、教学方法、实践教学以及教学资源建设方面提出了课程改革的具体做法。

The Rainmaker in Today's Professional Service Organizations

ABSTRACT

Professional service firms have relied heavily in the past on a small number of rainmakers-people who have influence and bring business into their firms. In today's competitive marketplace, everyone in the organization must be involved in the practice development process. This paper, based on a series of interviews with accounting professionals, identifies the roles and responsibilities for practice development inherent at every stage of the professional accountant's career path. Additionally, the roles and responsibilities of marketing professionals in professional service firms are also considered.     

Hotel revenue management and the Internet: The effect of price presentation strategies on customers’ willingness to book

A decision that is intrinsic to the application of hotel best available rate (BAR) pricing is how to present the BARs for individual nights within a multiple-night stay to prospective hotel guests. We discuss two alternative price presentation strategies, a blended and a nonblended rate approach, and examine their effect on customers’ willingness to pay in the context of Internet-based reservation requests. Study findings indicate that a nonblended rate presentation approach generates higher willingness to book ratings than a blended rate presentation approach. Furthermore, when it comes to nonblended rates, familiarity with BAR pricing moderates the effect of rate sequence on customers’ willingness to book.     

Buyer behavior under the Best Offer mechanism: A theoretical model and empirical evidence from eBay Motors

We use data from eBay Best Offer listings to analyze haggling over prices in transactions with one seller and a series of potential buyers for a limited-supply product. We characterize this transaction mechanism as a sequential-move game to investigate buyer behavior. Our model suggests that a buyer's offer price increases in relations to the number of buyers who have previously made an offer on the item and the Buy-It-Now price chosen by the seller. On the other hand, the offer price decreases for items which have been listed on eBay for a longer period of time. We empirically test our theoretical predictions using data on the sales of Toyota Camry cars on eBay Motors. The empirical evidence is consistent with our model.     

职业院校技能型课程行动导向教学实践与探索——以纳税实务课程为例

高职院校会计专业在人才培养过程中要注重学生综合职业能力的培养,将行动导向教学法引入会计专业的教学中,能够适应职业技能型课程的特殊要求。文章以高职院校会计专业当中的纳税实务课程的学习为例,对该种教学法的使用进行了探索与实践,并提出了在实际运用过程中应该注意的问题。     

印度对华反倾销实践及其评价

本文在全面介绍印度对华反倾销调查的案件数量、涉案产品类别、我国企业应诉情况、案件最终裁决情况以及印度对华反倾销中有关非市场经济问题的规定的基础上，分析和总结了印度对华反倾销案件所具有的若干特点，特别是其中与WTO规则不相符合的某些具体做法，以期为我国企业今后应诉印度反倾销提供借鉴，为政府部门和相关研究机构研究应对策略提供参考。     

中国乡村革命研究中的叙事困境--以"土改"研究文本为中心

在有关二十世纪中国乡村革命的研究中，存在着诸多的叙事困境，如“革命”与“现代化”叙事的两难，革命叙事中的官方表达与实践逻辑的背离，地主与农民的对立，国家权力与村落社会的二元解释等等。突破这些困境所采取的研究策略，应是深入乡土社会内部去观察、理解农民行为的社会历史空间。
