Abstract Algorithms have been used to assist in the design of statistical geographies which define areal groupings for which official data are collected. Typically the groupings based on different parameter values or different algorithms are not formally compared, but summary statistics based on each solution can be constructed, some of which are based on fuzzy set principles. These principles can also be used to make incremental adjustments to solutions, based on different criteria. In this paper, we adopt the above methodology to compare the new statistical geography for New South Wales developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics with that generated by an amended version of the Coombes algorithm. RÉSUMÉ On a utilisé des algorithmes pour faciliter la conception de géographies statistiques définissant des groupements par zone pour lesquels des données officielles sont recueillies. En général, on ne compare pas officiellement les groupements basés sur différentes valeurs paramétriques ou différents algorithmes, mais il est possible de créer des statistiques sommaires sur la base de chaque solution, certaines desquelles sont fondées sur des ensembles de principes flous. Ces principes peuvent également être utilisés pour effectuer des modifications progressives sur des solutions, sur la base de différents critères. Dans la présente communication, nous adoptons la méthodologie susmentionnée pour comparer la nouvelle géographie statistique pour la province des Nouvelles Galles du Sud, créée par l'Australian Bureau of Statistics, avec celle qui a été produite par une version modifiée de l'algorithme de Coombes. EXTRACTO Se han utilizado algoritmos para ayudar en el diseño de geografías estadísticas que definan los agrupamientos de áreas para los que se recopilan datos oficiales. Típicamente, los agrupamientos basados en valores de parámetros diferentes o algoritmos diferentes no se comparan formalmente, pero pueden construirse estadísticas resumidas basadas en cada solución, algunas de las cuales se basan en principios establecidos difusos. Estos principios también pueden emplearse para hacer ajustes incrementales a soluciones, basados en diferentes criterios. In many new or repeat purchasing situations, business buyers must decide how many suppliers to consider (a “choice set”) in determining which supplier(s) to actually buy from or contract with. This paper develops an optimization approach to determining the size of the choice set, taking into consideration buyer utility and search and evaluation costs. A theoretical model is developed for both one-time and repeat purchase situations. The model is estimated using empirical data received from bids received for procurement auctions. In these auctions, suppliers provide bids for steel pipe based on two product attributes (price and delivery time). Model sensitivity to small changes in parameters is also tested. 相似文献

以山东省17个地市为研究区域,通过构建基本公共服务质量评价指标体系,以熵值法确定指标权重,利用集对分析模型对2012年山东省17地市的基本公共服务质量进行了测度,并对其空间格局特征进行了分析,研究发现:1就基本公共服务类型划分而言,基本公共服务质量优秀的为青岛、东营、济南、威海、烟台、淄博;基本公共服务水平良好的地区为滨州、潍坊;基本公共服务中等水平地区为莱芜、济宁;基本公共服务较差地区为德州、泰安、日照、枣庄、临沂、聊城;菏泽基本公共服务最差。2就空间格局特征而言,呈现出沿着胶济线形成基本公共服务质量高水平地区,胶济线两翼的基本公共服务质量水平较低的特征;沿海地区与内陆地区相比,沿海地区的基本公共服务水平要远高于内陆地区;次级区域相比,半岛地区最优,其次是鲁中地区,再次是鲁西北地区,鲁南地区最差;就内部差异而言,半岛地区内部差距最小,鲁南地区次之,再次是鲁中地区,鲁西北地区最大。 相似文献

The deployment of battery-powered electric bus systems within the public transportation sector plays an important role in increasing energy efficiency and abating emissions. Rising attention is given to bus systems using fast charging technology. This concept requires a comprehensive infrastructure to equip bus routes with charging stations. The combination of charging infrastructure and bus batteries needs a reliable energy supply to maintain a stable bus operation even under demanding conditions. An efficient layout of the charging infrastructure and an appropriate dimensioning of battery capacity are crucial to minimize the total cost of ownership and to enable an energetically feasible bus operation. In this work, the central issue of jointly optimizing the charging infrastructure and battery capacity is described by a capacitated set covering problem. A mixed-integer linear optimization model is developed to determine the minimum number and location of required charging stations for a bus network as well as the adequate battery capacity for each bus line. The bus energy consumption for each route segment is determined based on individual route, bus type, traffic, and other information. Different scenarios are examined in order to assess the influence of charging power, climate, and changing operating conditions. The findings reveal significant differences in terms of required infrastructure. Moreover, the results highlight a trade-off between battery capacity and charging infrastructure under different operational and infrastructure conditions. This paper addresses upcoming challenges for transport authorities during the electrification process of the bus fleets and sharpens the focus on infrastructural issues related to the fast charging concept. 相似文献

Online booking is one of the most popular ways of making reservations for hotel guests. Thus, hoteliers are paying increasing attention to hotel website information presentation and design. The purpose of this study, then, is to examine the joint influence of choice set size and information filtering mechanisms on consumers’ decision confidence towards online hotel booking. Choice set size was operationalized through 3-, 9-, and 30-hotel room choice sets. Through experimental design, this study shows that the presence of an information filtering mechanism reduces consumers’ perceptions of choice overload with a large number of choices (30 choices), whereas its impact is attenuated with smaller choice sets (3 and 9 choices). In addition, choice overload mediates the impact of choice set size on decision confidence. Theoretical contribution and managerial implications are also discussed. 相似文献

This study investigates the connection between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate reputation among the public using fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). To examine complex processes underlying the reactions of this influential stakeholder group, hypotheses are drawn from the category diagnosticity approach. Thereby, a psychological model of perceived (im)morality is transferred to the CSR context. In line with these hypotheses, positive/negative CSR activities influence reputation in the expected directions (H1a, b), while the effects of specific configurations of CSR activities reveal an asymmetry suggesting a negativity bias (H2). Further analyses confirm that positive effects require a consistent positive performance regarding prior reputations (H3a) and the aggregated CSR activities of several previous years (H3b, c). Moreover, the relevant patterns vary between industries (H4). The present study thus contributes to CSR research by investigating a powerful but hitherto understudied stakeholder group through a category diagnosticity lens combined with a configurational approach to analysis. 相似文献

We specify a general methodological framework for systemic risk measures via multidimensional acceptance sets and aggregation functions. Existing systemic risk measures can usually be interpreted as the minimal amount of cash needed to secure the system after aggregating individual risks. In contrast, our approach also includes systemic risk measures that can be interpreted as the minimal amount of cash that secures the aggregated system by allocating capital to the single institutions before aggregating the individual risks. An important feature of our approach is the possibility of allocating cash according to the future state of the system (scenario‐dependent allocation). We also provide conditions that ensure monotonicity, convexity, or quasi‐convexity of our systemic risk measures. 相似文献

This study investigated effects of codes of ethics on perceptions of ethical behavior. Respondents from companies with codes of ethics (n = 465) rated role set members (top management, supervisors, peers, subordinates, self) as more ethical and felt more encouraged and supported for ethical behavior than respondents from companies without codes (n = 301). Key aspects of the organizational climate, such as supportiveness for ethical behavior, freedom to act ethically, and satisfaction with the outcome of ethical problems were impacted by the presence of an ethics code. The mere presence of a code of ethics appears to have a positive impact on perceptions of ethical behavior in organizations, even when respondents cannot recall specific content of the code. 相似文献
