We investigated relationships among market orientation, innovation and reputational resources, and their impact on market performance and financial performance within the transitional economy of Slovenia. Market orientation related positively to market and financial performance of firms indirectly through innovation and reputational resources. Reputational resources associated positively with loyalty, market share, and sales volume, innovation resources associated positively with market share, and sales volume indirectly through customer loyalty. Selected marketing resources related positively to financial performance indirectly through customer loyalty, market share, and sales volume. In this study, we address three research questions: (1) Why are some industrial firms more innovative than others? (2) What effect does innovativeness has on business performance? (3) Does the linkage between innovativeness and business performance depend on the environmental context? Accordingly, we draw on various theoretical perspectives to develop hypotheses that propose market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, and learning orientation as key antecedents to innovativeness, as well as a direct relationship between innovativeness and business performance. A model is devised and tested that examines these relationships in general and in the context of varying market turbulence. Findings confirm the validity of the model and afford various insights on the role of market turbulence in the proposed relationships. Lastly, implications are offered on the antecedents and consequences of organizational innovativeness. 相似文献

Two decades of research on wage differentials by sexual orientation uses data-sets that do not ask respondents about their own sexual orientation, even though sexual identity is key to theories that explain why a wage differential might exist. We show that many women who claim a lesbian identity for themselves are not classified as lesbian by researchers using the behavioral proxies typically available in the data. Conversely, many women who describe themselves as heterosexual are classified as lesbian because they report sexual experiences with women. Misclassification may lead to erroneous conclusions about changes in labor market outcomes. The results highlight the need to develop robust methods for collecting data on sexual identity and for more research on the interrelationship between sexual identity and behavior, especially occupational choice. 相似文献

Using data from frontline hospital employees (FHEs) in a major New Zealand public hospital, this study expands previous research on the relationship between job demand stressors and burnout, and examines the role of customer orientation (CO) as an organisational level variable in the burnout process. The study results show that burnout symptoms partially mediate the effects of job demand stressors on FHEs self-evaluation of their ability to do their job. Besides having a direct negative impact on depersonalisation and reduced personal accomplishment, CO also buffers the dysfunctional effects of job demand stressors on reduced personal accomplishment as well as the dysfunctional effects of emotional exhaustion on depersonalisation. Implications of the results are discussed and future research avenues are offered. 相似文献
