从电影《2012》到“新灾变时代”——从气候变迁史解读“世界末日”问题

电影《2012》演绎的板块快速移动,引起世界范围内的毁灭性灾难其实是不科学的。古今所谓“世界末日”观念,均无科学依据。全新世以来,古气候发展有四个主要阶段,并具有2500-3000年的周期,先后分别是前北方期一北方期、大西洋期（黄金时代）、亚北方期（灾变时代）、亚大西洋期（新黄金时代）。目前,亚大西洋期接近结束,一个新灾变时代即将到来,并将对世界气候环境造成不可估量的重大影响。我国东部季风环流势必遭受干扰,西部干燥化将加强。     

PREDICTING THE COSTS AND BENEFITS OF MEGA‐SPORTING EVENTS: MISJUDGEMENT OF OLYMPIC PROPORTIONS?

The economic benefits of hosting mega-sporting events are often exaggerated. Ex-ante impact studies typically overestimate the gains and underestimate the costs involved. It is therefore difficult to explain in economic terms the intense competition among cities to hold such events.

本文认为《2012》与其说是一部灾难片,不如说是一部关于世界观、人生观、价值观的伦理片,一部回顾历史、立足现实、着眼未来的纪录片。它的成功,在于它让人在灾难面前经过生死与人性、生存与发展、责任与担当等重大思考后,勇敢而自信地活下去。     

Unintended outcomes of the London 2012 Olympic Games: local voices of resistance and the challenge for sport participation leverage in England

This study was undertaken with five families before, during and after the London 2012 Olympics to examine and explore everyday reactions to the Games on families in the East Midlands region of England. The aim of the research was to build localised accounts of the multiple interpretations, potential impacts and reactions to the Olympics in everyday family household settings. The views, perceptions and interpretations of the Games were gathered through qualitative research methods, using video diaries and, pre- and post-event, group interviews. Findings from the study illustrated diverse reactions to the legacy messages, resistance to policy interpretations surrounding this mega event and a strong sense of regional and financial exclusion from the event. Lessons can be learnt for both policy-makers and event managers in the design of future events that encompass the localised perspectives of those communities and individuals who consume the event beyond direct physical participation. In particular, themes from the data included the importance of regional community involvement of national showcase events, limitations of existing media and web-based information sources, and the everyday resistance to policy messages assumed as taken for granted. It is also hoped that the study will provide lessons for the Rio 2016 Olympics from a local delivery perspective.     

The London 2012 cultural programme: A consideration of Olympic impacts and legacies for small creative organisations in east London

This study investigates the impacts of the London 2012 Olympic Games and their related cultural programme on local small creative organisations in East London. It contributes to unpacking the elusive concept of legacy thorough an in-depth analysis of creative organisations' stories and experiences, combined with an analysis of policy documents and interviews with key informants, over a four-year period (2010–2014). A range of potential impacts of mega-events for creative organisations are identified and systematically discussed. The results highlight a gap between Olympic rhetoric and local reality. Problems include inadequate local consultation, barriers to accessing opportunities and inability to leverage effectively. The study also explores the role of cultural tourism in delivering an Olympic legacy for the local creative industry. It finds that opportunities to showcase deprived – but creative – areas in East London, and foster the development of creative forms of tourism, were missed.     

Examining the Quality Antecedents and Moderating Effects of Experiential Value in a Mega-Event

This study aims to explore (1) the underlying dimensions of experiential value (EV), (2) the quality antecedents of EV, and (3) the moderating effects of EV on the relationships between the quality dimensions of Expo 2012, Yeosu, Korea, and visitor satisfaction. Although gaining event experience is a crucial reason why event visitors attend certain events, EV has yet to be fully investigated in event literature. This study offers an expanded view of the event consumption experience from the EV perspective, thus contributing to the event literature, particularly by investigating the unexplored aspect of event visitors’ behavior. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings are also discussed.
