扩大内需已经成为我国经济发展战略体系中的核心战略之一,长三角必须改变过去三十余年对外开放所遵循的出口导向条件,其对外开放的方式转变和水平提升必须围绕扩大内需这一前提条件。扩大内需条件下长三角提高对外开放水平意味着产业重心从制造业转移到服务业,在当地制造业全球化的基础上推动当地服务业的全球化;新条件下长三角对外开放瞄准自身的战略定位,与沿着一体化发展思路下率先实现现代化一致。高铁时代下长三角日益变平,这要求其内部城市间对外开放竞争的准则转变为在扩大内需条件下以人才建设为基础的创新能力竞争;而长三角企业要借助扩大内需机遇,实现从全球价值链参与者向国家价值链主导者的转变,实现对外开放水平的再次提升。     

新牧区建设中的种植业发展问题研究

牧区是指草原畜牧业经济在农业经济中的比重相对较高的地区。新中国成立后,尤其是改革开放以来,新疆牧区的种植业生产规模不断扩大,发展速度和效益不断提高。在很多牧业地区,种植业产值超过畜牧业,成为牧区经济的主体,发展种植业在新牧区建设中具有举足轻重的地位和作用。本文从新牧区建设的特殊性和种植业的作用入手,深入分析了制约牧区种植业发展的因素,从而提出加快牧区种植业发展的对策建议。     

Agglomeration economies and clustering – evidence from German and European firms

This article empirically analyses the impact of agglomeration economies on the clustering of German and European firms using partial proportional-odds models. Firms are grouped according to industry and divided into departments. At the industry level, I find evidence for inter-industry economies derived from the New Economic Geography (NEG) framework for European firms in general and German knowledge-intensive firms in particular. At the department level, Marshallian Externalities such as the hiring of skilled labour and technological spillover, and therefore intra-industry economies, are empirically confirmed for European and German departments like Human Resources and R&D but rarely for others.     

The Impact of Sports Events on Inbound Tourism in New Zealand

Sports events are an instrument of destination marketing for host countries. Over the past 40 years, New Zealand has held sports events such as the Commonwealth Games and the America's Cup and many international tourists have visited New Zealand during these events. While past studies have examined the economic value of such tourism at a generic level, the impact of mega sports events at more specific levels is unknown. Thus, this study examines not only the impact of eight mega sports events upon New Zealand's international tourist arrivals over the 1983–2005 period at the overall level, but also the number of tourist arrivals from participating countries for each event. Results suggest that the 1990 Commonwealth Games, the 2000 America's Cup (yachting) and the 2005 British and Irish Lions Tour (rugby) had a significant impact on tourist arrivals overall and on arrivals from each participating country.     

Born with a silver spoon of legitimacy but struggling for identity? The paradox of emerging spin-offs in a new sector

This study examines one paradox of the spinning-off process—on one hand, a spin-off's affiliation with the parent firm provides legitimacy that it can leverage for success; on the other hand, a stronger affiliation with the parent firm makes it difficult for a spin-off to resolve identity ambiguity and develop its novel identity in a new sector. The context of this study is a spin-off created by a reputable manufacturing firm but venturing in the software sector. I highlight challenges faced by the executives in leveraging spin-off's legitimacy at the same time it seeks to move away from the parent for developing a new identity. I find that a combination of the processes of sensegiving by a proactive leadership and applied sensemaking by the members is critical in resolving identity ambiguity. The study further develops propositions that synthesize the findings and contribute to the literatures of identity, legitimacy, and entrepreneurship.
