50 years of research on international standardization and adaptation—From a systematic literature analysis to a theoretical framework

When going and operating abroad, firms face the challenge of finding the optimal balance between standardizing and adapting their marketing strategies across national borders in order to be successful. In this contribution, we present the major results of a systematic literature analysis in the field of international marketing standardization/adaptation. Based on our findings, we introduce a theoretical framework combined with the concept of situation-strategy fit. This framework serves as a basis for providing theoretically grounded and empirically testable recommendations regarding performance-enhancing strategies of international product standardization/adaptation in given situations. We argue that a high degree of international product standardization is likely to enhance foreign product profit, as compared to all alternative strategies, if there is (1) a high cross-national homogeneity of demand, (2) a high potential for cross-national economies of scale, (3) a high cost of product modification, (4) a high foreign price elasticity of demand, (5) a small perceptual error of the managers, and (6) a high quality of strategy execution. By presenting the state-of-the-art knowledge in the field and by introducing a novel theoretical framework, our paper has important implications for both scholars and managers in the fields of international marketing and international business.     

Revisiting the substantiality criterion: From ethnic marketing to market segmentation

This paper examines the meaning and application of the concept of substantiality for consumer market segmentation and target selection with a focus on ethnicity and minority ethnic groups. In contrast with interpretations of segment substance anchoring on some sufficient potential size to justify time and effort involved in planning, the objective is to consider key group dimensions to ascertain potential substantiality. Common criteria proposed to assess substance are essentially an exhortation to assess the value of the segmenting opportunity. An increase in producer surplus meets this requirement but this consideration is done post hoc. The challenge for market segmentation is to assess substantiality a priori. This paper presents a screening approach based on appraising minority ethnic group resources that enables such an assessment and has potential applicability to other consumer subcultures.

“十二五”时期中国预算改革的思考——基于引入中期预算框架的视角

20世纪80年代以来,为期3～5年的中期预算框架(MTBF)在全球范围内兴起并逐渐制度化.而我国目前实行的年度预算包括对其进行的若干改革,一直未能很好地解决财政纪律和预算与政策的连接两大预算管理难题,中期预算框架为“十二五”时期的预算改革提供了新的选择和机遇.理论研究普遍认为,与传统的年度预算相比,中期预算框架在实现预算管理各层次目标,以及加强财政受托责任和提高财政透明度等方面,均具有明显的优势.借鉴新西兰、英国、荷兰等典型国家的中期预算制度设计,我国“十二五”期间应有策略地推动引入中期预算框架的预算改革,并确保将改革的注意力集中到正确的方向和要点上来.     

供应链金融的研究框架及其发展

文章在文献研究的基础上从追问供应链金融之本质出发,探讨了供应链金融的研究框架及其具体组成和功能。供应链金融体系主要由机构参与者、供应链管理特性和金融功能三个关键部分构成。面对成功实施供应链金融所面临的挑战,文章认为供应链金融将会越来越重要,其应用也会越来越广泛,而抓住这一机遇的法宝在于获得相关知识、综合运用关键融资活动、掌握运用相关技术、采用适合国际环境的融资方案。     

国内基本医疗保险关系转移接续研究综述

基本医疗保险关系转移接续不畅已成为目前医疗保险制度发展的重要瓶颈,相关研究也逐渐成为热门话题。从内容上讲,目前国内学者关于基本医疗保险关系转移接续问题的研究主要集中在三个方面,第一,基本医疗保险关系转移接续的必要性和重要意义;第二,基本医疗保险关系转移接续的利益冲突阻碍因素;第三,基本医疗保险关系转移接续的完善策略。从人群上讲,以农民工为代表的流动就业群体成为关注的主要对象。在研究数量与研究深度方面,目前国内关于基本医疗保险关系转移接续的研究仍较为薄弱。通过对国内关于基本医疗保险关系转移接续既有文献的概括与总结,以期有一个清晰分明的梳理。
