Drawing offers a powerful mode for representing and clarifying one‘s own thinking and for communicating ideas to others. Young
children instinctively use drawing in the same exploratory way that designers use sketching to ’converse with themselves‘
when generating ideas. The two distinctive traditions of drawing in Technology and Fine Art are replicated in the Design and
Technology and Art and Design curricula in England and Wales. However, because we lack research evidence about (i) the processes
by which children develop drawing capability and (ii) the effects of school culture and pedagogy on the development of children‘s
drawing capability, teachers are confused about how to teach drawing and unsure about the role of graphicacy in promoting
children‘s learning in both subjects. In this article the particular dilemmas of teaching design drawing to young children
will be discussed. A research agenda for the teaching and learning of drawing in primary schools will be outlined.

Despite the global increase in both fair trade sales and awareness, actual market shares of some fair trade products remain disappointing. A number of authors have suggested various reasons for this, including the complexity of the situational context affecting actual purchase behavior (Carrington, Neville, &; Whitwell, 2010), the disconnect between producers and consumers (Dickinson, 2001), and the problems associated with the depersonalization of ethics in mainstream distribution (Bezencon &; Blili, 2011). This article introduces the drawing method into the field of research on fair trade consumption. Using this method, this study explores student perceptions of both fair trade consumers and how fair trade works. In doing so, the drawing method unveiled two potential consumer types; namely, the dreamer and the angel. On this, we argue that our study reveals some of the possibilities inherent in the use of the drawing method to explore uncertainty surrounding fair trade consumption. 相似文献

This article looks at Rose's theory of lesson drawing and its possible use and application in social science research. It identifies the contingencies necessary for its application and also identifies how a lesson may be transferred between cases. The use and viability of Rose's theory of lesson drawing is evaluated. The lesson drawing approach would be appropriate to most comparative social science research. It lends itself to tourism research and the establishment of circumstances in which lessons can be imported or exported between regions or countries. This paper explores the dynamics and features of the impossible trinity configuration in China, in the process of reforming the renminbi (RMB) exchange rate and inclusion in the currency basket of special drawing rights (SDR). By applying the synthetic model of Ito and Kawai (2014) and Aizenman et al. (2008) to Chinese data for the period between 2002 and 2019, we find structural breaks in China’s exchange rate stability in 2005, when China started its market-oriented exchange rate reform, and 2016, when the RMB was included in the SDR. More importantly, we find that, in the process of RMB exchange rate reform and RMB’s inclusion in the SDR, China has adopted a more flexible exchange rate regime, becoming more financially open, monetarily independent, and less reliant on international reserves hoarding. 相似文献
