本文阐述了在某市排水工程改造过程中,利用计算机、PLC、触摸屏等现代化手段实现对城市排水的自动控制过程,克服了以往由人通过电话发布命令进行控制中所存在的问题,减少了人力、物力和财力,提高了控制精度和准确率,解决了城市排水中亟待解决的问题。     

Dialogue speech in linguo-didactic interpretation

One of the most important problems of language teaching is developing students' speaking skills, which is considered to be in a close relation with stimulating their cognitive abilities as a whole. Expressing one's ideas in a foreign language presupposes possession of a minimum of lexical and phraseological units that can allow reading, speaking, listening and writing on the level required by educational cumcula. Continuous and constant learning of a particular number of words and phraseological units can be achieved only in case of their regular use in speech. In other words, the criteria of identifying the level of students' knowledge is the number and the quality of lexical and phraseological units they learnt.     

The Meaning of Balanced Scorecards in the Health Care Organisation

This study investigates the introduction of balanced scorecards in a health care organisation. It analyses a top-down control system, built on measurement, in a medical professional context, where attempts at implementing systematic performance auditing are expected to meet resistance. The study shows, however, that balanced scorecards, redesigned by medical professionals and used in a dialogue about service activities and finances, are regarded attractive successors to criticised financial control systems. In the light of the markets, hierarchies and clans perspective, developed by Ouchi, this popularity becomes comprehensible. Balanced scorecards are seen to reduce both the ambiguity of performance evaluation and the goal in-congruence between parties in the organisation.

From gaze to dialogue: host–guest relationships in Lijiang,China, as illustrated by the case of Joseph F. Rock

The gaze places host and tourist in an “authority field” which is unfavorable to the development of harmonious interpersonal relationships and cultural interactions for both sides. Mutual, equal and just host–guest relationships should be established through dialogue, which will improve tourists’ understanding and experiences, awaken the hosts’ cultural consciousness and establish a new type of cultural interaction. The paper is based on analysis of the work and life experience of Joseph Rock in southwest China during 1922–1949. It uses content analysis to examine more than one thousand photos which contain visual representations of his gaze. The changing values of tourism to the ego and culture were revealed through a change in emphasis from “I–It” to “I–You” relationships as Rock turned from gaze to dialogue.
