The economic valuation of benefits resulting from environmental policies and interventions often assumes that environmental outcomes are certain. In fact, these outcomes are typically uncertain. This article proposes a methodological approach to incorporate delivery uncertainty into benefit estimation based on stated preference methods. In the study design of a choice experiment survey on land‐based climate change mitigation, we explicitly include delivery uncertainty as the risk that a proposed mitigation project fails to deliver emission savings. We find that respondents’ preferences do not change significantly after being confronted with choices that included risk of failure. However, failure risk itself does have an important impact on the preferences for delivering emission reductions. We show that delivery uncertainty can have a large impact on stated preference estimation of benefits of public programmes. This result should condition conclusions drawn from ex‐ante environmental cost‐benefit analyses that make use of such benefit estimates. 相似文献

ABSTRACT This study was concerned with executive housekeepers in a lodging setting. It used a self-completed questionnaire containing both choice and open-ended items to solicit the opinions of executive housekeepers and the delivery of quality service in the housekeeping department. The results indicated the executive housekeepers believed the department members delivered a high level of service, but more could be done. They also indicated a belief that the housekeepers felt they delivered high quality service and they did a better job of delivering quality service than other departments in the hotel. 目的:寻找广州市妇婴医院剖宫产产妇术后预防性使用抗菌药物的最佳疗程。方法:采用回顾性研究,收集和整理该院2006年6月至2007年5月493例剖宫产产妇相关资料,利用成本-效果分析方法对剖宫产产妇术后预防性使用抗菌药的不同疗程进行分析。结果:剖宫产产妇预防性使用抗菌药的疗程A组((d<3)天)、B组((3≤d<4)天)、C组((4≤d<5)天)、D组((d≥5)天)的有效率分别为:66.67%、85.12%、89.5%、85.19%;以抗菌药费用作为成本计算的成本-效果比分别为:9.21、7.22、8.62、14.32;以西药费作为成本计算的成本-效果比分别为:13.92、15.29、16.89、21.89;以住院费作为成本计算的成本-效果比分别为:61.15、67.09、66.78、79.96。结论:剖宫产产妇术后预防性使用抗菌药物,最经济、有效、合理的使用时间为术后3天(B组),增加用药天数并不能增加治疗效果,而费用却明显增加。 相似文献

Academic research into service industries has explored the characteristics of interpersonal interactions between employees and customers, but there are few studies addressing the issues of consumer interaction with technology and its influence on the objectives and results of the operations subsystem. This study examines the elements of the service encounter, and the changes automation originates in them and their relationships. The paper also examines changes in the elements and results of the operations subsystem, as a result of automation. We propose that the customer's relationship with employees and/or technology and automated systems for the service impact the objectives and results of the operations subsystem, all of which could have an effect on the company's competitive position. The empirical study is focused on four industries, namely, toll motorways, car parks, carwash and video/DVD rental companies, in an attempt to identify objectives that lead companies to implement automated processes affecting the customer's relationship with the company. The hypotheses generated are contrasted with a structural equation modelling. The results confirm that the customer's relationship with employees and automated systems for the service impacts the objectives and results of the operations subsystem. Also, the results show how automation can enable firms simultaneously to achieve acceptable levels of flexibility and productivity, two dimensions that have traditionally been considered opposites. 相似文献

采用1989—2012年的年度数据,利用协整分析和误差修正模型分析GDP增长和对外贸易出口对我国快递行业发展的动态影响。实证分析结果表明,GDP每增长1个百分点,快递业务量增长7.28个百分点;而对外贸易出口每增长1个百分点将导致快递业务量下降2.988个百分点。快递行业的快速发展是经济发展到一定阶段的必然产物,同时也是近期我国对外贸易出口受挫而引致企业将产品生产和销售专注于国内市场的必然结果。 相似文献
